It was a great location to see a lot with the sand Bear dunes. I was there to meet up with my family son daughter-in-law and grandkids. They were tempting it and I was RV in it but everything worked out awesome

Wonderful wooded sites, super clean bathrooms, hot showers & a beautiful hiking trail to the beach. Issuing all the site registration tags on checkin for multiple sites changes over several days was excellent. Thanks for keeping it simple.

Lower Platte River - Bring your own tube and float down to Kittendorf Landing. Get out and walk back. Not too long of a walk. Very relaxing.Ride bikes from Beulah to Frankfort on the Betsie River Trail. Have lunch at Stormcloud Brewing. Great food and beer.Ride bikes from Empire to Glenn Arbor or further on the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail.Many beautiful hiking experiences depending on level of difficulty.

This campground was most quiet one I had ever camping in. I was amaze by enormous size of the camp site and it contain many trees to offer privacy from your neighborhood camper. Nearby you can canoe or kayak down the nearby platte river, or bicycle to the platte river beach to enjoy the river run into Lake Michigan. If you are lucky you can try your hand to find some Petoskey stone too. Of course finally you want to climb the Sleeper Bear Sand Dune before you head home.

We loved this campground! The sites are so spacious and level. The dishwashing sink is an added bonus.

Campsites are very large, private, and beautiful. Mosquitos were really bad though.

It was a great time floating down the Platte River into Loon Lake. We spent a little time fishing loon lake then continued on stopping to have a picnic at the end. The people were so friendly and helpful as we found out when we ended up with a flat tire on our new trailer. The matter was resolved quickly and we enjoyed the rest of our stay.

Really nice campground - I stayed in a campsite in section 3 and 4. Both were nice, but 4 does not have electricity. I think visiting the lake front at the end of the road was really nice at sunset. Biking around the campground was also very nice.

The new roads and camper pads are very nice. The staff working the desk are always to helpful and friendly. We appreciate the showers with no tokens. We have been coming to the Platte River camping with our 3 daughters and their families for at least 14 years now. The children love it here and so do we.
