Very very clean and complete bathrooms. Lovely walk to the lake. So many beautiful things to do nearby with lake and river converging. Thanks!

Campground was great! About 200 steps from site to the bathroom/shower. From the site there was a 1 mile sand path to Lake Michigan directly. Small portion of beach is open but also roped off bc of bird nesting.

Around 2 mins walk from the parking area. Parking is limited. Camping site is flat and well maintained. Lots of bugs at night.

We have camped at the Platte River Campground since it first opened. It is an outstanding campground and is extremely well maintained. The natural beauty of Sleeping Bear Dunes is amazing. We are tent campers and have had sites in loop 3 , many in loop 4, several in the group sites, and more recently the walk in sites. All have been great experiences. There is a lot to do in the area. You can hike from the campground to Lake Michigan. There are also many other hiking trails. The Riverside Canoe livery may be the best in the state of Michigan. Kayak or canoe the Platte river as it is very clear and very scenic. A great Paddle for the very young or those new to paddling. As you're we planning your stay, you may want to consider times when the moon phase is new, or when the moon sets very early. The night sky at Platte River is truly amazing as you will see stars like you probably havent in a long time or perhaps the first time in your life.

Clean facilities, quiet walk in campsites and I nice walk to a beautiful lake MI where all appealing at Platt River Campground. It is a short distance to float down the Platt River as well.

Beautiful place to stay! Walk-in sites are private. Sunrises and Sunsets on the beach are absolutely gorgeous and a must see! So peaceful...we won't stay anywhere else :)

Great experience all the way through. We had one of the walk-in sites and it was very quiet with a nice tent platform. Bathrooms and showers were in great shape, but I recommend the swim in Lake Michigan over the shower!!

Beautiful campground, super clean bathrooms, & hot showers. Esch beach is my favorite, only a 10 min drive from the campground! Beware of the trash pandas, they like to steal your food!

Very nice and quite campsite that is a very short walk from Lake Michigan, easy drive to Frankfort if you want to pop into town, and has great access to trails. Thoroughly enjoyed two nights here.

The walk in campsites are lovely and secluded although you can hear traffic on M-22. Short hike to the beach and a boat launch is pretty much right across the street from camp entrance to the Platte. We had a great time floating the river from there all the way to Lake Michigan. The beach is lovely, salmon just started coming in, not crowded at all in September mid-week. Great spot for dark sky watching, we heard lots of owls too. Found some Petoskey stones on the beach. The ranger that swore in my Junior Ranger at the end of our stay and handed her her badge could have been a little more enthusiastic, but all in all my girls and I definitely will return!

We camped at a walk-in campsite and had a good experience. The bathroom facilities are relatively new and clean. The campsites are fairly private, you can probably see one or two other sites at a time.

The Platte River Campground, especially the Walk-In Tent Sites, are my absolutely favorite place to camp in the United States. Perfect in every way.
