The campground and everything about the Park could not have been better. We biked, hike, swam and kayaked and loved it all. The campsite was perfect. The large picnic table and fire pit with the cooking grate are great amenities. The campsite was the perfect size for 2 tents and our gear. The bathrooms were super clean. Staff was very friendly and and helpful. Cannot wait to return.

Great campground. Nice upgrades since I last visited when they had shower tokens. The kitchen sink was very handy!

This was my first time camping at Platte River and the campsite, campgrounds and experience was excellent. We were tent camping in the non-electrical area (loop 4) and so enjoyed the size of the campsite, the raised tent beds, the fire pit with the grate, and the forest like setting. The bathrooms, shower and dishwash room were clean and in great condition. The campground had many visitors but it was very quiet. The campground has good hiking trails to Lake Michigan and the Platte River and there is easy access by car. We biked the Heritage Trail from Empire to Glen Arbor and loved it. Absolutely wonderful experience. Thanks to all the staff for making Platte River such a wonderful place.

This is probably the greatest beach in Michigan!! The Platte River runs warm inland lake water out into Lake Michigan with sandy beaches on both sides of the river and the lake. A great place to spend a warm day. Bugs were not bad when I was there, but there was a strong westerly breeze. I think the only downside is that the campground is nearly 2 miles from the beach, so you need to drive or bike down. The camp sites are not tight and allow some privacy. Much better than other popular campgrounds along the Lake Michigan shore. The only other downside is that it's always full!! You need to reserve this campground MONTHS in advance during the summer.

This is my favorite place to camp. It's close to the hikes, beautiful sunsets, traverse city, and Glen Arbor. There's a drive in movie theater close by, and a great antique store near beautiful Frankfort. The sites are spacious, bathrooms are clean, and it's very well run. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

It was such a well maintained campground with clean showers and bathrooms. Short walk to Lake Michigan and spaced out campsites!

Wonderful campground! Check-in was quick, informative and easy. Park staff were friendly and helpful. The campground is well-marked, easy to find our site. Driveways and parking is well paved. We had a tent-site without electricity; our site was quiet, cozy and private. Bathroom facilities were clean and functional. We had a wonderful time here and cant wait to return!!
