Hiking and biking from the campsite was great. Very nice trails and roads. Swimming was great in Lake Michigan and easy to access from a short bike or hike. Restrooms very clean and loved the sink area for cleaning dishes. Very clean and well kept park.

Such a wonderful campground The sites are huge and give you a feeling of privacy. The bathrooms are well maintained and hot water showers are great. Beautiful trees and wild flowers. You have access to so many little lakes and rivers for kayaking, canoeing or fishing. There are wonderful hiking trails that offer a variety of scenery and difficulty. The Heritage Trail is our favorite biking trail anywhere. We come for two weeks every summer!

Safe and clean. An area for improvement, measure and accurately display lengths of pad for campers. Your lengths in the reservation section are woefully under-reported. As a result, those using longer campers may not use the park because they think they won’t fit.

There is so much to see and do using Platte River campground as the jumping off point. Biking on the Heritage Trail/Hiking on the Alligator Trail or Empire Bluffs or The Treat Farm hike to Lake Michigan were all great! We love that even when the river and beach are so busy, it's just so quiet at the campground. The sites are huge! and give you so much privacy. There are no bad sites...just differences that can suit your desires.
