This is a beautiful, well maintained park in one of our countries most scenic areas. Staff were great, kept everything maintained and running. Wonderful experience!

This is the second year we've stayed in Platt River with our 25' Airstream. Great campground. Showers! The sites are all large and mostly level. Very nice spot for exploring Sleep Bear. It's a bit farther away from the main attractions like the dune climb and such, but it's not too far. DH Day is too small for most trailers, even though it's in a better location, so if you're in a 25' and up trailer, Platt River is the best spot.

Showers, bathrooms are great. Campsites well spaced. Loop 4, non-electric was nearly full but very quiet early. Very glad the sawdust log firewood vending machine is gone!

Great campground with spacious, relatively private sites nestled in the trees. Bathrooms are modern and clean with private showers. Was sparsely occupied in mid-October. Theres a beautiful trail connecting each campground loop through the forest and leading to a vast private beach, with the possibility of extended hiking to nearby lakes. Loved it here.

Excellent maintenance, impeccable bathrooms. It is very nice to have hot water to wash your hands, and a wonderful convenience to have hot water to wash dishes in a special room. The sites are very woodsy and provide nice privacy. A definite return in the future.

Intended to stay for 2 days and booked another since there was so much to do and see. Was only traveling thru but will make a return trip for a weeks stay next time. Facilities clean, camp sites more private than most NP. Plenty of hiking and bike trails, the nearby river for floating or kayaking and Lake Michigan swimming was a must. Empire is a small but sweet town if you make a stop there.

Beautiful campground. Plenty of space between sites, feels private. Easy to navigate. The kids did the junior ranger program and LOVED it.

The only negative comment I would make as an opportunity for improvement to all campers is while on 2 of the lots we experienced quite a bit of mice activity for the first time ever, camping at Platte River since before 2011. This is most likely because previous campers were not diligent about cleaning up their trash and/or food during their week(s) on the site. We also noticed on one lot terrible odors in the immediate lot area and tracked it down to previous campers on the lot had been dumping some kind of liquid into the woods at the edge of their lot, maybe dishwater, maybe not walking to the restroom, or worse. We should all be thinking about keeping our trash and food picked up daily and we certainly should consider we do not want to walk on or smell previous campers dumping of unknown liquids or human waste. This campground provides the best camp sink and restrooms of any I have seen. Let's use them!

Wonderful place to camp, the staff is most helpful and the facilities were cleaned and sanitized regularly. My only complaint is that there was an inordinate number of campers driving the wrong way on the one-way loops, maybe more signage is required.
