I have been coming here for the last three years and it is always the highlight of my year! There is SO MUCH to do here and it seems as if there is something for everyone to enjoy. Lots of great fishing, hiking, and site-seeing all over the place!

First-rate campground! Our walk-in site was exactly what we were looking for; not too far from facilities but far enough within the forest to feel alone. Barred owls were heard the first night and a deer walked just ahead of us along the short trail to our tent. Friendly staff at headquarters, easy access to river, town, and Sleeping Bear dunes. Our second visit was just as lovely as our first!

The campground continues to impress me each year. Ive been camping at the walk in campground for 15 years. The sites are spacious, private and well maintained. The bathrooms are cleaned twice a day. People are friendly. Itsa favorite part of every summer.

Easy check-in, an awesome, secluded site and clean, new bathroom facilities nearby. Hiked about a mile through the woods to wide open, pristine shoreline and stunning views. Highly recommend!

Favorite camping experience 14 years in a row. The hike-in tent camping portion of the park is excellent. Sites are spaced so you feel you are nearly alone in the woods yet accessible to the facilities. Love camping here!

Great sites for tents more private than most campgrounds

The facilities, bathrooms, and campsites are very clean and walk-in campsites are easily accessible.

I love this campground. The location is fantastic. The surrounding area is beautiful. I have been there a handful of times now over the course of some 30 years or so. It will never get old. The dune climb is great. Riverside canoe livery is great. The Cherry Bowl drive-in isn't too far away and that is great as well.I would normally give this place 5 stars. The only reason I gave 4 stars for this particular stay was the mosquitoes. They were quite obnoxious.. I'm glad that I have been there several other times or I might have left with the impression that it's always like that. It's not. This was the first time I had ever had mosquito problems. If you'll be up in the Sleeping Bear area, don't miss this campground. If you won't be up in the Sleeping Bear area, plan a trip! It blows my mind that there are Michiganders who haven't been up that way before.
