The park does not advertise that the bath house on the tent loop, indeed on all but A loop, get shut within a couple of days of the last reservable date in October. They let go a significant number of staff one week after the last reservation date (roughly October 15) and use their last days to shutter all bath houses but the two on Loop A. So, if you need bathrooms close by, even though the tent sites are 'open', you'll find that the toilets and showers are not by about Tuesday of the week after the last reservable date. Other than that, the stay was just as lovely as it always is. Recreation.gov needs to give the Parks the ability to separately indicate the loss of nearby restroom facilities. This is a coding issue with Recreation.gov, and not a failing of NPS. Yes, I have reported it, but more voices will increase the likelihood that they'll actually give the Parks staff the ability to let us know what's up with the bathrooms on the dates we'd like to come.

I go here every fall. The walk-in sites are a great way to escape into the woods and the from the sounds of RVs. People are usually respectful and keep quiet so that you can enjoy hearing the waves crash against the shore and enjoy the stars.

We had a walk up campsite that my friends and I really loved. It was great for us to really have a full nature-filled experience, yet still be close to a nice bathhouse with showers and restrooms (that were very clean)! Would definitely recommend taking the hike to the lakeshore from the walk up sites' path it took us about 20 minutes and was WELL worth the adventure!
