I tent camped at Platte River Campground near Honor, Michigan the first weekend in May. Loop 4 sites were amazing, a short trail leading from each paved parking space to its camping platform, equipped with picnic tables and campfire enclosure. It was delightful to see trees all around me as I listened to and observed many local and migratory birds. The restrooms and showers were modern, clean, and features warm air had driers as well as hot water. The building included a dishwashing room to reduce the scent of food within the campsite. It seems to work; I didnt even see any raccoons. Kudos to park personnel for creating a welcoming and comfortable experience for all!

Beautiful campsite. Great views of Wildlife from our campsite and on the loop drive. Campsite was quiet and peaceful.

I have been coming to Platte River Campground since it opened in 1991. I am always impressed with the friendly rangers, volunteers and staff. The campground is well maintained, the sites are spacious, bathrooms clean! There are activities too many to list...swimming, tubing, biking, hiking, birding, shopping if that's your thing, looking at trees, stones, cooking on the fire to name a few....

the plot was very good and the proximity to the showers and camp sink was also very nice without any smell of the smell from latrines. the were little to no bugs because of the cool weather. also because of the trees the wind was very calm. only down fall had to do with the lack of access to natural firewood in or nearby the camp, and the vending machine for the pelletized fire wood being broken.

Bathrooms/Showers/Dishwashing Station kept clean. Staff is always helpful, kind and informative. Not a fan of the wood bricks in the firewood machine but it is easy enough to find firewood from approved vendors in nearby towns while getting ice etc. we have been up 17 years in a row! Nice quiet campground with plenty of trees in between the sites (only ever stayed in loop 4). Can’t wait for next year!
