Its a beautiful campground with well spaced sites. Very peaceful. Our only negative experience occurred when we were visited by the park ranger because someone complained that we used a generator. We DID NOT use a generator, but apparently because we had some issues with the electric when we arrived they assumed it was us. They promptly came out to make sure electric was working promptly.

Platte river is one of our favorite campgrounds. The sites are all spacious and private. The bath houses are always clean.

It was a nice clean area. I loved the campsites, they were so roomy. And the hosts were very friendly.

Very nice campground. Bathrooms were clean and the showers hot. Lots of people who were pleasant to be around. Close to the National Seashore and the Platte River Point.

it's a beautiful campground. First time here in the warm weather. We stayed in loop 1 - and the sites were much closer together than what I anticipated (For a national park). We were in site 140 - and there was a camper right across the road, parallel to us, so our entire view was their trailer. Next time we will stay in loop 4, where the sites seem more spread apart (no hook ups, but that is ok with us!). It all depends what you're looking for, and we just wanted a bit more space between units and a little less noise.

On the good side - it's well maintained park, and the trail to lake michigan is just spectacular. Our dogs were able to run on the beach and it was just gorgeous. Great loops for walking the dogs and the proximity to the wonder of northern Michigan are at your beck and call.
