Enjoyed camping at Platte River CG in mid July. The campground is well organized. Campsites are nicely spaced out & roomy, with paved roads & aprons, tent pads, tables & fire rings. We stayed in a 32 ft. motorhome with toad. The beach on Lake Michigan is @ a 1 mi. hike through the woods or @ a 2 mi. bike ride. A business that rents tubes, kayaks, canoes etc. is nearby so river trips are available!

Platte River is a beautiful campground. Sites were arranged where they felt more private. The trails were well marked and maintained. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. We loved it and plan to come back.

Love the Platte River campground.

Didn't like the pressed wood for fires.

One of the nicest campground in North America. Showers are free and clean. Dish wash stations are at each shower/bathroom facility. It’s walking distance to beach and tubing down the river.

We tried all year to get into the campground. Having been there many times we are aware of how popular it is. It is our favorite campground. We were able to stay two nights on October 7 and 8. We tried to get another additional night and had to opt for a non electric site for one more night because the system all said full. When we left we could see there were some sites that were never occupied in the electric loops on the night we had to take non electric. Very disappointed that now that the national system is all online it does not identify sites that are cancelled early enough. Not happy this time as much as we love it.
