The campground was lovely. We have a very private spot, but some of the sites were quite close to others. The bathrooms were clean and the campground was well taken care of. The beach was pleasantly low-traffic, although it was quite the hike to get there! It was difficult to find many of the trailheads -- better marking would have been great.

Campground has wide roads that are easy to navigate. Site was somewhat secluded, had lots of room, and was very clean. Staff was very helpful. Water and dump station onsite. Close to two stores and several beaches, and not far from Frankfort. The only drawback was that no generators are allowed in the rustic area but we ended up not needing it anyway. Would definitely stay here again.

Park office staff were friendly, cheerful, and informative. Camp sites were clean, neat, well spaced, and offered privacy.

Platte River is one of our favorites! We enjoy the hiking trails, the kayaking and the beach. The staff is great! Generally the campsites are spaced out nicely for more privacy. The bathrooms and showers are clean. Treat Farm trail, Betsie Point Lighthouse, Old Indian trail, the dunes are all fantastic sights to see and experience.

When you check in, the ranger should tell you not to leave anything on the table even if you are gone for 5 minutes. We left a empty water bottle and a few other things on the table when I was taking a nap, and a ranger came by, left a note telling this was a no no and we would get a $100 ticket next time. Unfortunately, there was not a ranger present that night when a drunk was yelling at the top of his lungs after quiet hour began.Be careful of ticks. Everything was very clean.The ranger at the ranger station said there was weather on the board outside. We looked, and did not see any weather predictions, only wind direction and other things like that. We were not prepared for a major thunder/lightning storm at night.

Weve been camping here for 20+ summers. It never disappoints. The high lake levels are problematic, but we always find new special spots (not telling you!). The bathrooms were especially clean due to Covid precautions. Thank you staff! Thank you for taking care of this National treasure!

Beautiful campground! Very clean bathrooms. Helpful campground hosts too; they charged my son's CPAP battery daily during the daytime hours due to my non-electric site. I would love to return in the future!
