Rangers at registration site unwilling to do common sense things to assist. No empathy. Specifically, had 3 nights booked in a row, but the middle night was a different number camp site because that was the only one available. I had called a couple weeks prior to arrival to tell them about my situation. The person I spoke with said that while they cannot guarantee it, they should be able to work something out when we checking so that we can stay on the same campground all 3 days. It stands that whoever had booked that one night would be willing to swap for the site we have reserved, that would allow us to stay on the same campground for all three nights. Sady, rangers when we checked in were unwilling to contact the person who had booked that one night to simply ask if they would be willing to swap, nor were they willing to do anything else to try and help. As such ended up having to pack up and unpack on each day. Very poor experience. Need to have rangers and policies that actually accommodate and help people.

Very nice campground with plenty of shade trees and wildlife including beautiful bird sounds. We enjoyed the cleanliness of the restrooms and showers and how close in proximity they were to our camping site.
We enjoyed floating on our tubes down the Platte River and swimming in Lake Michigan. The sand dunes were so cool! And such an easy walk/hike to the lake and the dunes from our campsite. We’ve recommended to so many people! Would love to return in the future.
