This is our favorite vacay every summer. The campground is BEAUTIFUL, well cared for and in a perfect area. We check the same boxes each year traveling to Pierce Stocking Drive, Empire for some hiking and Glen Arbor for food and shopping. We love the Heritage Trail for biking. Don't forget the dune climb- a family favorite. There are plenty of beaches (even a Dog Friendly one off Esch Road) and super accessible rentals for the river. We find it to be the perfect blend of off the grid meets amenities. We leave feeling refreshed and rested each year. The camp hosts seem to always be kind and hospitable. The bathrooms are VERY clean and well cared for. 10 out of 10. We'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here.

The weather was perfect for our 6 day stay. Our primary purpose was to see as many migrating birds as possible. We heard Loons and a Barred Owl from the campground almost daily and saw many other birds right from our site. You must not miss the short hike to Pyramid Point along with many other beautiful hikes in the Sleeping Bear Dunes area.

We generally stay at national park or state park campgrounds. This is the nicest campground we have stayed in in forty plus years of camping. The sites are all large with paved drives, and are situated so that the huge tent pads, picnic tables, and fire pits ae afforded privacy by trees. There are ample restrooms, and each one is bight, clean, warm, spacious, and equipped with a couple of showers around back. No generators are allowed, so it was SO quiet!

Best campground we have stayed in in our trip around Michigan. Very nicely wooded. Sites with nice pads and places for the fire ring and picnic table.

This is a stunning campground. The sites are large and wooded. You don’t feel like you are right on top of your neighbor. It’s a very peaceful and serene setting. We stayed in the 400 loop and loved it. There was a trail about 0.5 mile long to get to Lake Michigan and that was awesome. The site had a pad area for tents which was really nice. The only thing I didn’t like about our site was the slope that went from the pad area down to where you park your vehicle, we had several kids fall on it as it was pretty steep. Will definitely return to this campground and highly recommend!

Amazing campground with beautiful, wooded, spaced-out sites. They even had a dish-washing station! The staff was wonderful - I arrived on bike and checked in, and they hand-delivered a bear canister to my site. It's a beautiful, quick walk to Platte Bay straight from the campground as well. Could not recommend this campground enough.
