There is so much to explore at and near the Platte River campground. The river mouth is one of the most beautiful places in Michigan. Make sure you check out Point Betsie 15 Minutes south especially if you are a rock hound and Empire Bluff Trail to the north. The campground and bathrooms are always clean.

First time at Platte River Campground and it was incredible! Camped for three nights in mid-May. We have a new favorite campground in Michigan and can't wait to come again!

What a great campground! Our site was large, paved with ample space for our tent and screen house. The facilities were well-maintained and clean. We plan to add this to our regular parks to visit!

We tent camped in Loop 2, very well maintained campsites. bathrooms and showers are nice. very nice trails. Seems like bears are active in this area and you have to lock all your items especially food items in bear proof containers. lot of places to visit around. lazy river run is fun.

This is a serene setting campground that we clean & well attended to in every way. The sites were spacious, private & easy to access.

Enjoyed once again a relaxing and social distancing time. Thank you for the clean showers (used our trailer for our other hygiene needs.). A small problem of no electric with a transformer blown and uncomfortable night, but addressed as quickly as possible. Others with generators were not abiding by your rules. We all were uncomfortable. Fire pot with unfavorable previous burnings. Skateboards and roller blade use in the loops. Parking in fee areas, waived. We had true understanding on the COVID leaniance for all to enjoy a 'getaway'. All in all...Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore never disappoints in returning!
