Great spot. Long lonely beach.

We had the great joy of camping here at the end of October. I had originally booked Site #24, but when I wanted to add another night, it was booked, so then I booked #26. I was nervous about that site because it was only 30 feet long with posts along the pad, so I didn't think we'd be able to park across the driveway to accomodate both our 20-foot travel trailer and our truck. I kept checking, and finally Site #1 opened, so I took that and canceled my old one. Number 1 was incredible. It was separate from all the other campsites, it was huge, and it was right by the stairs going down to the beach. If you are coming with a big rig, don't bother. This campground is meant for pop-ups, tents, and small travel trailers. The larger sites are the ones in the generator loop. All the sites along the water are incredible, but if you can't get one of those, the ones on the other side of the road still have water views with 3 sets of stairs for beach access. We love Pictured Rocks and have camped at Hurricane River twice before and absolutely loved it. This campground is even better! We caught the North Country Trail right out of the campground and did a hike. We also drove to the Beaver Basin Trailhead and hiked along the lakes and then to Spray Falls. Amazing! Overall, it was a magical trip!

This was the 2nd time making a fall reservation. Both years waited weeks to get a site. Finally was able to reserve only to get there and find the campground nearly empty. People are reserving and then not showing up. This ruins it for others who are waiting to reserve a site. As for campground, its very rustic and quiet. No cell service in campground which is nice for getting back to nature. Reservation system needs to be fixed to discourage people from not showing up. Be courteous and cancel people...others are waiting. Campground gets 5 stars, reservation system gets 1 star.

We were in site #1. Great view of Lake Superior with large campsite. Beautiful place especially in early October with the changing of leaf colors.

The most incredible campground just a short walk down the steps to Lake Superior.

Site 1 is an excellent huge secluded site, LOVED it. Love the beach. Campground host was great. Campground was clean and we'll kept. Excellent experience.
