PRO Beautiful campground on bluff above lake Superior shoreline. Long sandy beach for walks. Amazing sunsets.
Good spacing between sites. Water and pit toilets on site.
CON Mosquitoes were very bad there the first week of June. Fine down on the beach but sites in the woods were really bad. Just plan for it with Deet spray, cloathing and maybe a bug net. Bugs were worst in late afternoon early evening.

Beautiful setting on shore of Lake Superior. Sites are large, generally easy to navigate with 25' Class C. The "back loop" is generator-free with may be an issue for RVs that have power needs as most of these site are also shaded. Friendly and helpful camp host.

We love 12 mile beach campground and it’s accessibility to Lake superior, its cleanliness, it’s quietness, it’s tent friendliness. We hate to see the sites that are unused because someone made a reservation and didn’t cancel it. This could be handled better! This park should be full every night and made fully accessible to the public. People who don’t cancel should be fined.

Absolutely no complaints about the campground! Site was clean, outhouses were clean and well maintained, campground host was attentive to the area. We really appreciated the nice pads for tents and there were lots of places for hammocks. The hiking trail was maintained and easy to access. The beach was clean with good access from the stairs. The only complaint we had was the hoard of black flies that came out toward the end of the trip - certainly not something the park can control. We will definitely be going back!

Nice, clean and level-ish site. Not as cramped on each other as found in our other National Park stay in Michigan. Easy walk down to the beach to watch the amazing sunset! (but watch out for the biting black flies! ouch!) Nice location on the east side of the park with easy driving access to the park.

We had a lovely time at twelve-mile beach campground. The vault toilets were some of the most pleasant I have ever used. The site was very well maintained and the beach was absolutely beautiful. It was a little chilly and very windy as of late May, but it can be a wonderful experience with the proper equipment. We had heard that the road to the chapel rock trailhead was super muddy and horrible, so my camping partner went to the little beaver trailhead instead and hiked along the coast going west. We went over 13 miles total and were able to get well past chapel rock and beach.
