Beautiful location. Some of the sites are small but he smaller sites tend to have nice views of the lake. Also there are no generators allowed which is amazing!

Beautiful little spot with lots of privacy. This site only has 8 spots so it was as peaceful as it gets. We took a beautiful hike about 1.5 miles each way with my 2 and 8 year old to Lake Superior and saw only a couple people on the hike. Next time we would bring paddles and a canoe for Little Beaver Lake. We will be back!

Good hiking right from the camp ground through beautiful woods to Pictured Rocks (but I'd recomend driving to Chappel falls then hiking), the coast, or arround Beaver lake. Saw signs of beaver activity. Vault toilets were helpful and camp site bear box is provided.

Very nice campground. Only 8 campsite spots. Site 8 is a handicap spot that is little bigger than the other campsites. The road heading to the site is over 2.5 miles long, narrow. There is a bathroom, also has a water supply that you can drink from and to fill bottles. It also has a non potable water spout. Each campsite has a fire ring and pad for a tent or small pop up camper and a big enough spot for 1 car. There is a trail entrance right next to the campsite that is maybe mile and half to the beach. Overall would go back again.

This location has so much to offer for hiking and canoeing. It was great listening to loons and other birds and watching the swans with their cygnets. It was very peaceful and quiet- all campers respected that. No-one used a generator while I was there. There is nothing worse than generators in the back country when looking for peace and quiet.

The campsite was clean and quiet. However, the drawbacks of this campground made it an unpleasant stay. A few well used trails run through or near the campground. There is also a boat ramp to the lake adjacent to the campground. All of this draws in many, many people starting very early in the morning and lasting all day long. These people also used the vault toilets which smelled so bad I nearly vomited the first time I went in one. Each time someone opened the door the whole campground was filled with the foul odor coming from the toilets. And it wasn't even very warm when I was there. The people launching their boats at 5:30 in the morning, shouting directions to each other, and running their diesel engines for an extended period of time was an unwelcome wake up call.
I would highly recommend against staying at this campground. If I go back to Pictured Rocks I will use one of the privately run campgrounds in the area. It's a shame there are so many negative aspects to this campground. It was beautiful and could have been a pleasant and relaxing visit.
One thing I definitely recommend is maping out your directions for where your going around there before you arrive. There is absolutely 0 bars of anything and that makes it difficult to get places. But besides that I loved this campground super cute and cozy
Amazing campground conveniently located just 8 or so miles from the Chapel/mosquito loop trailhead. The campground itself is situated on a small lake, sites are fairly close together but all our neighbors were friendly and quiet! The hike from the CG to twelve mile beach is a must do. Had some fun little cave formations in the rocks and then we had the beach all to ourselves. Definitely a primitive campsite with pit toilets and a water source, but that’s all you really need! Would definitely return.

Picked the spot that said would fit a 30ft camper. Ours was 26ft and struggled to get in site. Other campers and hikers had to help direct parking. 3 mile dirt road is ment for only one vehicle at a time so if pulling any type of camper you are stuck. For a dirt road it is well maintained. No beach area or fishing from shore, just a boat launch spot. Place is ment for rough camping and hikers only. We booked for a week and left after one night. Picnic tables were anchored down so couldn't even move away from fire pit. Huge boulders in each camping area prevented us to be able to park in our campsite.

A long twisting dirt road that leads you to its tranquil spot by the lake. A brief walk, the trees pull away, and you are on the beach of Lake Superior. I stayed for a few days, but I could have stayed for weeks. Great place for kids and anyone else. If you need WiFi, you’ve come to the wrong place. Go to unplug physically and mentally.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
