The location and campground is beautiful. Loved our campsite (#4) at Little Beaver. Potable water at the campground and well-kept pit toilet. There's a very steep hill on the road going in. Great hikes all through the park and we took one to the lake directly from the campground. The coast, beach area, and park upkeep was great. The big BUT was that the mosquitos were oppressive here. (Early June). We thankfully brought a lot of bug gear - head nets, hammock nets, and sprays, but even with those we didn't stay the last night of our booking. It may be worth checking the radar, and if wind is above 5mph they'll be less of a problem. We took advantage of our extra time by going into Munising for a Glass Bottom Shipwreck tour, highly recommend. Will come back!

This campground is not treated like a wilderness area. 4 or 5 campsites were occupied by a school group with 20 kids running and screaming through everyone's campsites. They also strung up a huge platform between all the trees for the kids to jump on and probably damaged the trees. The campsites are also super small and close together so there's no privacy and you're surrounded by campfire smoke no matter the wind. One of the camper trailers also left an alarm going off all day until they got back at 9pm. There's no oversight and I never saw a campground host or park ranger in the whole time I was there. By far the noisiest, cramped campground I've ever stayed at. Don't expect to enjoy nature here.

It would enhance the campsites if enough underbrush was cleared in order to have a view of the lake. Not between sites. Thanks

Great quaint and quiet campground. Set back a nice distance next to Beaver lake, great for kayaking. Nice scenic hike to Superior and a gorgeous beach. My favorite spot to camp when in the area!

Loved this location for a tech get away and prime location for nearby lakes, waterfalls, beaches, hiking trails, etc. You have to drive almost an hour to get any kind of service (and gas!), but that's what we wanted. There's no artificial light, so you can gaze at the stars at night. We had site 4. If you're looking for a hammock spot, this is NOT the site for you. Definitely a tent only location, but the adorable chipmunks chasing each other through our site was adorable. Site 4 also has a great little path down to the lake where you can launch your kayak through just a couple reeds. Would avoid swimming as we found leeches in the reeds. We had to leave early after only 3 nights due to a hole in our tent and crazy storms, but those 3 nights were worth it. Definitely recommend.

Still like this campground as its small but it's so busy with non campers driving through. Site 4 had a nice trail down to lake were you could launch kayaks if wanted. Site 2 and 3 do as well not sure on the others.

There was nothing to indicate that access to the location was unplowed, we didn't find out until we arrived after a 4 hour drive.

Great place to stay. Not the biggest sites but it's the best jumping off point in the park. You can loop hike to most of the famous parts of the park and close to the very underrated parts off the big lake.
