The campground was alright, quiet and close to I-5. However, we stayed in sight 24 which is at the back of the loop and woke up before dawn to someone having a fire in the fire pit RIGHT NEXT TO OUR VAN! Very creepy! I was happy I had not hooked up to the electrics. I just jumped in to the drivers seat and got the heck out of there!

Most important to this review is that we stayed at site 24. There was very little shade; the trees surrounding were mostly thin/dying. This site is much too close to non-flushing toilets so the intermittent waft of poo in the air was disgusting. This campground is right up against a public park (huge parking lot). Despite the park being closed after a certain hour, cars, vans, trucks, motorcycles, Uhauls, etc. were constantly coming and going late into the night (we stayed up until about midnight most nights). That didn't make us or our belongings feel very safe at night. One night (~11 pm) we were making smores and were startled by a few vagrants up to no good in the closed public parking lot. A van had just pulled in, smashed into a curb, and then a woman screamed "Someone help me!" This was ~10 yards from our site! We ran over to see a van with its sliding door open. The driver ran out saying the sliding door slammed on her hand. I ran to get ice. My husband said the driver told him they drove hours to be there (at 11 p.m.!). All very unsettling. I will say that the surrounding walking paths are gorgeous for a day trip. Our experience would have been different if we had stayed at a further site from the park. However, even with that, I will not be going back to this campground.

This is a great place to stay while traveling on Interstate 5. You are right next to the Sacramento River. It does not seem that there are any comparable campsites between Redding and the Bay Area.

Toilet was next to campsite and stunk so bad I had to keep door and windows to my motorhome closed, and couldn’t even sit outside. Garbage dumpster was overflowing with trash creating yet another unsanitary condition. I would not stay here again!

The place needs TLC! It's a beautiful place, but there was garbage just about everywhere I could see. The trails through the meadows were nice and clean. The park and campground were disgusting with garbage. It even lost power once along with water. It was out a few hours and it was hot out, so I broke out my generator for AC. The park and campground have a lot of potential to be a great place to go, but under the current management, it is dirty and not very welcoming.

Nice flat campground on a very hot day over 100 degrees. The river was close by. We did not have a reservation but no trouble finding a shady spot. We were surprised there was electricity, which we used for an hour to help cool the van 22 ft sprinter

Lots of homeless and very dirty .
Camp host honestly did not care, the conversation was very disheartening.

This campground is clean, well maintained and spacious. Lots of shade trees, several very long trails to walk along and right on the river. The host was welcoming and helpful. Red Bluff is super hot in the summer. I don't know if being near the river would ease this. The spring weather we had was mild and delightful. Huge, old Sycamore trees to delight and enjoy. Very quiet, yet only ten minutes to a Wal Mart, restaurants and gas stations. Sites are comfortable for smaller trailers and RV's, only saw a few sites that would fit the bigger rigs over 30'. Be aware there is a regular group of folks in about four campsites on the 24 site loop who appear to be homeless and living out of their cars/campers. They were clean, quiet and kept to themselves, but it definitely were living in a challenging situation. This was sad and did impact our stay. We would camp there again for sure, beautiful park!

great trails to walk on around and by the Sacramento river. Quiet large camp sights, restful time away from the hub bub of life.

Having Full Electric hookups was great... we only stayed One Night. we got there before the sun went down and did some exploring. The gardens( even though its winter, and they were not kept up due to COVID) were really nice to walk through. we found a little path out to the river and enjoyed the river birds. Quite Peaceful.
