Convenient late entry and online registration same day. Wish more places made it this easy.

Grounds are clean and on both my visits there I found the camp hosts on duty friendly and helpful.

Very helpful staff. Advised us if a more preferable campsite than the one we chose. Later they helped us troubleshoot a problem with our electrical hookup cable

Great place for a quick overnighter. Showers are great and camp host also great. Dont expect to swim though, the river is quite a hike from the campground.

Was awakened at 1 am by an abandoned woman the first night. Showers were out of order the second night. Homeless people were hanging around the bathrooms and bothering campers for the door code.

Easy in and out off of Eye Five. Clean and quiet, with trees and green grass . Clean restroom and shower. What else do you need ?

We enjoyed our stay at Sycamore Grove. The big trees and large spaces are especially nice. It was also easy to find right off of
Intestate 5.

This park is a true Gem, it feels very far away but is very close to Red Bluff and shopping if needed. The wild life, especially the birds and majestic trees and spring wildfires, truly spectacular. Quiet lol of the 5 nights we were there including the weekend. Well maintained including the water and power hookups.

I was on a trip, passing through with the expectation that I would be camping at a campground this evening. Overall the campground was really nice, easy to find and on this day had a lot of availability. I really have no complaints about the campground and my specific site. I would stay at this campsite again on future trips should I need too. The only reason that I rated this Fair or 2 stars was because I could not use the facilities. I arrived later in the evening, past dark. The bathrooms are locked and require a code to enter. I was not able to obtain a code to use the bathroom and had to drive back into town to a gas station. The sign at the entrance of the campground said to visit the camp host for a code as long as they are on duty. Well, the camp host was off duty. I'd say if my pregnant wife was with me, this would have been much bigger deal than it was for me. But it would have been nice to have a bathroom and access to the showers. Make sure you get the code from the host, you may have to disturb them if they are off duty. I will note, that in my reservation I got the code to the locked gate at the entrance of the state park. But that code is not the same code for the bathroom.

The camp site are beautiful and spaced out in a comfortable way. There are primitive campsites and electical/ water hook ups. The trees ans nature wall was amazing.. The camp host is nice. Make sure you get the bathroom code from him. That's the good.

The bad is there are homeless that made the stay uncomfortable. The camp had to actually turn off the propane for heated showers because the homeless were bringing in everyone they knew to take showers and their fee for the campsite wasn't covering the cost. There was a mentally disturbed women who would use the electrical plug in the bathroom to charge her phone. She lived at the restrooms especially, she would scream and cuss herself out, then make uncomfortable conversations. Then another camp kept expanding and they kept trying to use someone else's name to keep the reservation going. The police had to be called to move them on. Honestly, minus the homeless issue it's a good place. It's sad, everyone needs a place to stay, but they were belligerent and unsafe.

It appears there are many tweakers and troubled people possibly living there. They were actually using an extension cord to use the electrical plug on our site since theirs didn’t have one. They had 5 vehicles parked all over the grass and tents everywhere. They were so loud and obnoxious that we had to leave after only 30mins of being there. Also when we had arrived there was a toothless man sitting in his truck blocking the entrance and he seemed upset that he had to push his truck out of the entrance for us to get by. I later saw this same man being spoken to by the police. Not sure why. I didn’t feel comfortable with my family there and would never consider staying here again and definitely will not recommend to anyone.

The campground is very conveniently located off I-5 and easy to find. It has access to some nice walking trails leading directly from the campground.

@LindaC553 · Camped on Mar 11, 2021 at Campsite #11
Nice campground with trees and lots of space between sites. It seems that by now the regular bathrooms should be open again, but they are still only allowing use of porta-potties, which are not very fun to use after dark!

We had a 3-day weekend & decided to stay at Sycamore Grove because it gave us a chance to get away but not too far from home .
