I stayed at tent site #8, which is located across the road from a group campsite. There was a very noisy group that played loud music from the late afternoon to 10pm and it sounded like a nightclub. After the host (very friendly and thoughtful) spoke to them they turned off the music but shouted, laughed, and talked loudly till 2am. I was very glad to have brought my earplugs with me. On the other side of my tent site someones dog kept barking every time the group site made noise. I didn't get much sleep the first night. The next day, all the campers who were staying at tent sites near the noisy group site left. It was only me left and a couple of men from the noisy group walked past my tent site and glared at me aggressively. As a solo female camper this made me feel very uncomfortable; it was also unfair to be treated this way when I didn't complain about the noise they made. This experience led me to realize that public campgrounds arent very safe for solo campers anymore. Gone are the days where everyone understood campground etiquette and respected a campers desire to be closer to nature. Most people who go camping want to hear the sounds of nature--birds, frogs, crickets, or owls. Not dance music with pounding bass. I think private campgrounds may be better at enforcing the peace and quiet. If you do decide to ckme here, I recommend staying at a campsite farther away from the group site!

I like the campground, there are lots of shaded sites. This is my 3rd time at the campground and all was good except that the shower water would not go on. The temperatures had been up to 102 degrees the day before and I really was looking forward to taking a shower before continuing on my drive north into Oregon. It was an extreme let down that the shower water would not work. I felt very bad for the traveling nurse who needed to get to work and ended up having to wash her hair using the outside lawn watering hose.

The parks is lovely next to the Sacramento river in a shady sycamore grove. Easy access to Hwy 5 and near the town of Red Bluff. The host was quick to welcome us with a friendly greeting.

We checked in the campground at 1:30 am after driving for 14 hours. We had received a email confirmation with the bathroom codes. The bathroom code did not work. We went to the camp host to get help with the code but they did not respond. Therefore, we had no access to the bathroom after a long drive. The camp host did respond reluctantly after knocking on the door at 8:30 am. She admitted that they send out a different code that is not correct. I asked why we were not notified and was told they are "trying." This is not hygienic and not ok in a suburban campground. When I filed for a refund three different times, the refund was denied.

Had a wonderful experience at this campground/campsite! The campsite hosts were so friendly and attentive, I felt very safe as a solo traveling female. Super quiet, great location. Only a couple things were not perfectthe toilets, although they were pretty clean, smelled like rotting fish and didnt have paper towels stocked or a hand dryer.

Restrooms were disgusting, the trash bins were overflowing with garbage…especially gross with it being 95 degrees outside. The lady across from us was sharing a joint with two guys from a couple spots down from us. Apparently she lives there full-time. The “family” a couple spots over in the other direction had vehicle traffic stopping for only a few minutes throughout the night…weird they wouldn’t stay for longer. Lol. I won’t be going back to this campsite again.

Nice camp site. Showers and bathrooms were clean and tidy. The Host, his electric service cart and grounds around his trailer were a DUMP however. The guy is pretty grumpy. Does not seem in keeping with what I usually experience with Hosts at State and Federal camp sites. I stayed here on two occasions in a week, on my way to and back from Furnace Creek Campground in Death Valley. On the first visit the Host showed up and asked for my reservation. I tried to show it to him and he snapped back to just give him the last 4 digits. When I came back, I arrived around 6 PM after dark. I found an open site and used my phone to make a reservation. I then went to the shower house but could not recall the door code so I went an knocked on the Hosts trailer door (the sign by the trailer said "Host on Duty"). The grounds around his trailer was littered with garbage. After about a minute, he answered the door. He asked if I had a reservation and I said yes. He did not ask for proof. I asked for the door code and he could not initially recall it. Finally came up with the code. The sign on the park gate says that the campground entrance gate closes at 10 PM and I believe that it was to open at 6 AM. The exit side is open 24 hours, protected by tire guards. I left the next morning at 5:30 AM and noticed that the entrance gate was open. It seems that I did hear cars driving through the park after 10 PM and since the gate was open at 5:30 I doubt that the Host closed the gate that night (or is it an automatic open/close gate system??). All in all, I would stay here again. You should consider a different Host however.
