Stayed at site 6 there was great tree coverage and close to the restrooms. Definitely plan for no water

Great camping area along side the creek. Spacious and although they say quiet hours is at 10pm, you could barely hear any noise outside of the bugs and nature. The camp site host was great and checked in most of not all campers and provided a resource for us to speak with should we needed anything. The fire pit area was convenient and most of the space was flat for pitching tents. In addition to the space, the bathrooms or portapotties was decent. Not bad. A couple of suggestions would be, maybe a map of the camping areas near the bridge so you can locate where your site is and also a sink in the bathrooms if doable. Other than that, great site and would return.

There was no water at the camping area and the restrooms could have been cleaner. On the good side there was toilet paper and the campground was pretty well litter free.

It's such a pleasant and peaceful place to relax or bike the towpath. Shepherdstown, WVa is just a quick jaunt when in need of civilization/supplies. Access to the Antietam battlefield is quick and it's well worth a lengthy visit. Gary is the best host I've run into anywhere - always pleasant and helpful.

Gary the volunteer park ranger was very helpful, he spent time with me, my niece & my nephew & explained everything to us. I was going to shepherdstown and he recommended what turned out to be one of the best restaurants ever, the blue moon

These sites are excellent, both for their location to nature, right near the Potomac, and near a historic city with Antietam. The Antietam National Battlefield is always worth a trip. Keep in mind where the bathrooms are located.

I loved this campground. The vault toilets were clean (until maybe day 4, then they got a little stinky but hey that's the nature of the beast right?) and the sites were nice and flat. Beautiful views of the river and pretty sycamore trees galore. It was the beginning of COVID-19 season when we went so none of the neat historic downtown things were open which is unfortunate but it was still cool to drive around and look at the old buildings. Antietam Battlefield was very interesting.
