Beautiful location and very nice flat sites. clean portapotty. easy to park. river is right there. Be mindful of the tunnel height is a maximum of 10'3" with curved sides . our T@B400 trailer is 9' and it just fit through with inches to spare! Could hear the trains, didnt bother us in a trailer.

It's not often you get to sleep next to the Potomac River. It's hard to beat drinking coffee while watching the river flow by. The trains can be a bit noisy, but it wasn't too bad.

There campground setting is very peaceful as it sits next to the Potomac River. An eagle flew by while I was enjoying my morning coffee! Its a very basic campground which was fine for me but people should be aware of before arriving.

Great place

Great stay! Our group booked sites 4-6. It was gorgeous on a fall weekend. The bathrooms were well maintained. One consideration is noise from large groups camping nearby- we had small children, so the noise late at night was disruptive (and my guess is they correspondingly didnt appreciate our noise at 7 am when the kids got up to play).

Wonderfully quiet campground nestled next to the Potomac River. Fire rings, grills and picnic tables are provided. We only stayed one night as we traveled but enjoyed the quiet. You need to know that there are train tracks close by along both sides of the river so you definitely get the “train experience “ as the freight trains pass - including overnight. This wasn’t a problem for us as years ago we lived nearby active railroad lines so it was almost nostalgic for us. Would definitely recommend and stay there again if we are in the area.

The portable restrooms could have used a bit of attention.

Great little spot to be right next to the river. Occasionally you'll hear the train passing by.

The campground is beautiful! Just trying to bring your own wood as firewood is a bit scarce and don’t mind the ports potties (pit toilets), my site was right across from one, not the best view.

river front is totally worth the price . decent size lots for 2-4 people . they give you a picnic table and your own fire pit . restrooms were clean . only thing to really complain about is the lack of access to the river . and this last part is for the people who own the property , we experienced a very rude individual at 2am . someone drove back to the lots , spun their tires , honked their horn , shouted real loud , and then drove off kicking up the gravel . woke everyone up in the campground .

Being on the river was nice, and camp site #6 offered a lovely direct view of the river. But, at least 3 trains went by overnight, loud enough to wake me up. Also, at 12:30am a boat covered in spotlights trolled up the river to do what looked like night fishing. While the passengers were having a lovely time, I felt like a party boat with the brightness of the sun was taking forever to pass the site.
Overall: Friendly active site with boat ramp to the Potomac river, but avoid if you're looking for any kind of "getting away from others" kind of feeling.

Very nice area with cool tunnel and river views

Easy, safe spot on the Potomac. Took a walk on the gravel trail that follows alongside the river until it ran up to houses. Would definitely suggest if you're intending to utilize the river and boat.

really great time, don't let the lack of amenities scare you away.
i recommend getting a spot with water access (but its sort of steep to get down)
there isn't much privacy from other campers around you, but spots are large so there is distance
there is also close to ZERO service, so you really get to unplug

would've been perfect, but I just wish there was a dumpster to dispose trash somewhere on the grounds, you risk an animal getting into it while you're there & then have to take all your trash with you

Spent an early season weekend here and truly enjoyed it. We should have brought more fresh water as well was not working yet.
Campground was clean and easy to access. We would recommend this spot!

This was the perfect spot for a quick camping trip. The views of the river are so peaceful. Bring your bike for a ride on the trail. I’ll definitely be making a return trip.
