Beautiful place to camp. Porta Pottys were very clean. We camped Wednesday to Saturday. Very quiet, except for the nightly trains! It was scary at first but by the second night, they didn't bother us.

Wonderful location on the river. In the future, I'll choose on of the sites that sits on the river. I took advantage of the locals selling firewood, which was a great advantage compared to others who were searching for dead wood in the small areas available. The boat launch was great for my kayak.

Great small campground with easy access to the C&O canal towpath. Campground and pit toilets were pretty clean. Compared to prior visits in past years, the place has become a nighttime party hangout for locals, though, thankfully, they left before midnight. Some campers ignore the 10pm quiet hours, and keep their loud conversations going until later, though, again, quieting down before midnight. These same folks also had four vehicles, three tents, and a dozen people staying at one campsite. I guess the campground rules are just suggestions if not enforced by the campground hosts. I love this campground, but will only be going back if I can avoid staying there on a Friday or Saturday night.

Campground and porta-potties were clean. The campground has not trash receptacles on purpose. There was some transportation noise from aircraft and railroads as can be expected in that region of the Maryland, but there was not road noises in the campground.

Nice CG on the Potomac. Be sure to walk up to the canal behind the campground!

The map online made it seem like spot #10 was on the water when in fact it was on the other side of the road.The ground was impenetrable when trying to stake down the tent. We moved our tent between 2 different spots and there was no way to secure our tent. We ended up leaving after 3 hours of trying to set up the tent.I have been tent camping for over 30 years and have set up tents in all terrain so to walk away was not an easy decision.I did not get a refund or an option to change dates and/or location.
