Enjoyed the C&O trail nearby for biking. Campsites seemed more spacious than a typical campground.

We had an amazing time camping here for the weekend! With the water right there, the boys had a blast swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Its a nice, quiet place to stay, and you can drive right in. Verizon shows 23 bars of service, but it barely worksso plan on being mostly unplugged.

McCoy's Ferry was a wonderful treat after a long day of driving! The campsite was easy to reserve, even though it was last minute. The campground was quiet, clean and very picturesque on the river. The C & O Towpath trail was right there and a great place to walk. I'm adding this to my favorites! The restroom was also very clean and surprisingly well-kept despite it being right at the boatramp.

If McCoy's Ferry campground is to be packed it out, please make sure to have some trash bags available to help with that idea or else responsible campers will spend a lot of time cleaning up micro trash, etc. overall very good experience at this campground site.

Nice site on the river with nice views. No camp host or firewood on site. Pit toilet in the parking lot by the boat ramp. Park rangers drove through a couple times. There was a bit of noise in the evening from people on the river.

The grass was very long. Your web site tells us that water is provided. The handle on the water pump was not there.

This campground is great! It’s very secluded with your occasional bike riders and walkers walking the canal… all porta potties, but we are well seasoned campers. And absolutely loved this location. The train noise is there but not that loud. Great view of the large calm river. We were in love with it!

We really like theirs campground. Great location snuggled between the C&O Canal Tow Path and the Potomac River. The views of the Potomac are great and walking along the tow path is so relaxing. The problem though is that since there is no camp host things seem to get rowdy at night. I believe people in the area rent sites here so they can party through the night unchecked. We have stayed here twice and on both occasions there were camper up way past the quiet hours of 10:00 PM. I suspect this not a problem on the weekdays. We definitely recommend this campground but be sure to bring your earplugs or noise canceling headphone for the evening.

A really great place to rest, kayak, and bike ride. We will go back. A really great experience. Some minor suggestions:1.At the road entrance, at the very last Y, put a sign showing go to the right to the campground. This will prevent people from continuing on what appears to be the main road but really is a dead end for the school bus turn around.2.If your plan is to clean the toilet facilities every 3 days, put in more than 2 rolls of toilet paper.

I arrived at the campsite and there is a sign that says possible rabid animal warning. The website did not warn me of this beforehand. I was relying on this campground as my night stay before my train the next day in DC. I did not feel comfortable staying at the site so had to last minute change all my plans. The park is beautiful and I wish i got to explore it more. Please be more forthcoming about these sorts of warnings.

Making reservations on line is very easy. Phoning may take longer since staff hours seem limited. McCoy Ferry is clean, spacious with lots of shade trees. There is a boat ramp so swimmers can easily access the river. Train runs very nearby but gratefully does not use it's whistle!

There was a car speeding around the campground at midnight. Very unsafe

There are a few trains that go through at night but no whistles. A hidden gem of a campground. Location was great and all around a great experience.
