I had a great experience at Greenbelt NP.It was my first time there and I really didnt know the campgrounds. I was fortunate I was able to change my campsite to better accommodate my car camping vehicle.

This is a great location for visiting DC. It's a 5-10 drive to the Greenbelt Metro Station with plenty of parking. The park is a beautiful forest with the campground situated in the middle of it so there isn't much city noise (a few sirens can be heard). The Park Service needs to do a better job of maintaining and cleaning the restroom/shower house. The toilets and sinks were clean but that's all. The floors were dirty, the exterior entrance door didn't latch, old foam was pushed into the air vents at the bottom of the walls, and clusters of daddy long legs were everywhere. It was in the 40's in the morning when we were there and the door stood open with no heat. Thank goodness the water was hot. There was only one shower house in Loop D, not two like indicated on the campground map. Restrooms only in the first building you come to. I've camped in lots of national parks and this was the worst kept restroom building I've seen. I see it as a supervision problem at this park. Get it together NPS! This is a beautiful park and a great asset. Take care of it!
