Great campground! Variety of sites; back-in, pull through, lots of shade or mostly sun. Multiple restrooms and water spigots. Beautiful views and easy access to the lakes, mountains and trails in the area.

Camping is good here. Lake only has one beach (well that's worth it if you ask me) and it fills up on the weekend but its a nice beach. Could do without all the side x sides and quads on the weekend but it's pretty in the valley

One of the few places I know of where you can forget the phone because there is no coverage (yay!). Many enjoy the lower part of the campground because of its wide open and uninterrupted views of the reservoir but it can get hot in the summer. The upper part has sites with large pines for a more secluded feel. The towns of Orangeville and Castle Dale are only 20 minutes away and the canyon road up and down is well maintained and very scenic, making the jaunt a pleasant one. My wife and I usually go late summer when the temps are not too hot or cold and there is a good chance of an afternoon shower that seldom lasts long enough to ruin the experience but leaves behind great aromas of fresh pine and sage. The camp hosts have been there over 10 years and are attentive but also respectful of the fact you are getting away from it all. Many come to fish and enjoy the ATV trails but almost all are respectful of the camp and their neighbors; keeping the noise down and traveling at posted speeds and the surrounding forests muffles the engine noise to near nothing. For a small diversion one can travel along the Upper Joe's Valley road which is dirt but not bad and there are many aspen groves to enjoy particularly in the fall. A turn off will take you down through a smaller canyon where an interesting historical marker tells of one pioneer family's journey through the same. The road empties out onto the main canyon road. Enjoy but don't reserve site 8 the last week of August :)
