Joes Valley Reservoir Campground is located in the Ferron Ranger District, Manti-La Sal National Forest (2 hrs 5 min southeast of Spanish Fork, UT) with an elevation of 7,122 feet. There are a total of 41 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid April to the beginning of November. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 30 and 40 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Fees range from $10.00 to $18.00. Some amenities include swimming. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, floating sports.
Joes Valley Campground will be undergoing construction from April 13, 2026 through June 10, 2026. This project will disrupt access and the availability of amenities and services. The campground will be closed to all visitors during this time. Please be sure to schedule a reservation once it opens.

I had two main issues with the campground. First, there was no camp host. Because of this the vault toilets werern't cleaned on a regular basis and this led to an invasion of flies. I'm not talking about a few, I'm talking about thousands mostly conglomerated in the toilet buildings. One was so bad I couldn't use it.Second, what's with cutting down green trees that aren't in a congested area tree wise? It seems as though the trees were cut at random and standing dead trees were left alone. I understand clearing tree density but many of the cut trees were alone in their area. It made no sense.

Great campground! Variety of sites; back-in, pull through, lots of shade or mostly sun. Multiple restrooms and water spigots. Beautiful views and easy access to the lakes, mountains and trails in the area.

Campground was very quiet during the week, people followed all the rules and it made for a very pleasant experience. Friday night a group arrived in site 35, very noisey with generator running until very late. Their fire burned unattended all night with smoke and sparks flowing throughout. In the morning, young children riding with up to 3 (one baby) on a child's ATV with no helmets on the road around the campground and finally in the middle section where the sage brush was located. Instead of taking the OHV out on the many trails, they rode ATV's & dirt bikes (motorized) around the campground. Tearing wildly around the site & campground, fire still burning, trucks parked in the middle of the campsite with no regard for the surrounding natural area. 4 or 5 vehicles, 2 campers and tents it appeared there were more than 12 people in the site. These people had NO regard for the area or the other people in it! It would be great if they were prosecuted for their disregard of the area and it's rules. Unfortunately, it was after Labor Day so no Camp Host, perhaps the USFS should do a drive through during the weekends to help curtail this behavior. They didn't care!

We love Joes and have stayed in dispersed camping there before. This was our first time at the campground. I will say without photos of the camp sites you would really have a hard time booking something to meet your needs or expectations. Several of the double sites are not suitable for double trailers and would really only work for tent campers. Some of the pull through spots are on a sharper curve as well so longer rigs would have a tough time. On a positive note, every site had at least one picnic table, was close to water or a bathroom, and was clean and well kept. There are some beautiful and solitary-feeling sites that are super close to the reservoir and to trails, so this is a great spot for proximity to everything. I would stay there again for sure!

I'm old enough to recall Joe's Valley before the reservoir. I've used the campground many times, the hosts are pleasant and friendly, the campsites are decent (I'm a tent camper), the pit toilets are clean and equipped, and the campsites are well spaced for privacy. I dropped a star in this rating not because of any shortcomings on the part of the campground but during this visit the place was noisy, screaming kids, barking dogs, loud motorcycles and ATVs, noisy diesel trucks towing RV trailers. My reservation took me past the weekend and the place quieted down.

This is a beautiful campground in the hills above Joe's Valley Reservoir. I was able to find a spot on-line that looked like it was away from the crowds, and it ended up being perfect. This is a region where there are a lot of off road vehicles, and we were there for peace and quiet and to hike. Most of the people were pretty good about quietly driving their off road vehicles through the camp. Bathrooms were clean and not too far away. We drove up to Pete's Hole and hiked from there. The host, Wayne, was great and showed us places to go to get away from the crowds and helped us with future plans.

Very nice campground. Only downside is they do not have a trash program. And, there is no marina anymore nor a second launch site.

Awesome campsites and great location. Never more than a boat and jet ski on the lake. Good fishing and Atv trails. Good place to go with a family.

Nobody was updating the reservations posted in the campsite. My son paid for a campsite in cash that did not say it was reserved. Only to have other people show up and kick him out because they reserved online.

Beautiful area. Most of these camp sites are not tent friendly.The fly population in the toilets is out of hand! Best to do your business early in the AM while they are still dormant.

Beautiful place with lots to explore. Whether youre in a tent or a trailer, lots of fun to be had! We went riding up in the mountains in side by sides and a bronco, kayaked, swam, did some paddle boarding, and fishing.We did experience some rain off and on a bit during our stay, but it wasnt terrible, and I think it helped keep things a little cooler throughout the day. Just be prepared for it.

We loved our stay. The campground is well laid out and the camp host went out of his way to make sure we had the perfect stay. The trails in Upper Joe's Valley are great for wheeling and paddle boarding on the reservoir made for a great holiday weekend. Can't wait to visit again.

My campsite (#23) was well-maintained, had a decent amount of shade most of the day, and a pretty view of the lake, partially obstructed by trees. The pit toilets were clean and odor-free. The path to the water is a bit of a hike, but do-able, even with an inflated SUP. The only downside (as expected from past reviews) was the atv and go-cart noise. This is definitely NOT a campground you go to for piece and quiet. Quiet hours are not enforced and you're welcome to run your generator all night if you want to. I'll definitely come back, because the campground and reservoir are lovely, but it will be just before or after the place is closed for the season and the grade schoolers in go-carts are back in school.
