It was a very nice campground. The showers were ok could use a little upgrade. The sites were nice and well-maintained. Would love to have water and electricity at every site since it get so hot. We were in a tent but could have used a fan to sleep with and during the day. People were hanging out in the bathroom for the ac

Showers were pretty expensive, but at least they were hot.

Great site, but no designated tent pad. Pitched our tent just fine in the site area, but no leveled spot for tents.

Im writing this review specifically about this campsite. If the map doesnt make it clear, this spot is right beside a bathroom. Some people like this, others dont. It was fine, I never noticed people coming or going. The site as a very slight grade to it but is mostly flat. I looked at other sites while I was there and I think itd be the same elsewhere. This site will work well if you want to put up a hammock. Any of the sites you choose in this loop will be easy to walk to the general store, assuming you dont have mobility issues to account for. There is a potable water hook up by the general store as well. There might be a hook up closer to the site, but if there was, I overlooked it. Walking to the cave is also very doable from here. Its close to trails as well and overall just a really nice place to camp. As for the facilities, the bathrooms by the campsite are clean and well-kept. The showers, which are over by the general store are very, very old and coin operated. The water pressure and temperature were fine though. I didnt use the laundry facility but the prices are very reasonable and the units appear to be average.

The Mammoth Cave Campground is conveniently located in the heart of the National Park. It is within walking distance of the Visitor Center and hiking trailheads. The restrooms are very clean and have running water, flushing toilets, and air dryers. There is a nice general store right outside the campground entrance which sells snacks, fire blocks(I was told that was all you are allowed to use in the NP, but I saw other campers using their own wood and gathering sticks), and basic necessities. Also, there's a Post Office attached to it for mailing postcards AND pay showers should you get too stinky from exploring.I have been to quite a few NP campgrounds and this is one of the better ones!

Lots of nice amenities available for campers including laundry. Visitor Center has a great information/exhibit area that is like a small museum about the caves and related topics. Some good hiking trails also available. Best to reserve tickets in advance to be sure you can get on the tour you want.
