We were happy with the sites and their size. Happy to have the shower facilities still open in November. Disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathrooms near our site. It would be nice to have more electrical sites and better wifi.

The photos for this site dont do it justice. This site was spacious and nice and flat. The parking pad is level and was plenty long for our rig length (50 total hooksd up). Plenty of distance between sites. Clean and well kept. Good potable water fill and dump station (close to each other but separated enough so someone shouldnt confuse them) by the campground entrance.

Walkable to the visitor center for cave tours. Clean, easy to park in our site.

Loved this site except it floods during rain. Park rules not enforced (quiet time, extremely loud generator on site 73, unleashed pets).

Be sure to reserve your tour in advance. You should be able to reserve your tour tickets at the same time you book your site.

Really great experience on the trails and of course touring the caverns. Wonderful experience for the family!

Very nice and quiet camp ground just a short walk to the visitor center where all the cave tours begin. Camp store is within walking distance too with some basic amenities for camping, along with a small deli with ice cream. Just before sunrise, the birds have made waking up a pleasure with their melodies. No hookups at the site, but really no need. We have a 5th wheel, so careful picking your spot if a larger rig. Very nice staff (park rangers). Generators off at 8:00 pm and quiet time at 10:00 pm. The rangers do ensure generators are off.

This is a beautiful campground with plenty of spacing between sites. However it desperately needs upgraded especially the showers. There is one bathhouse with only two showers in it for the whole campground! The shower I tried did not have enough pressure to wash my hair so I could only rinse off. This is after investing $3.00 in quarters. There are no water hookups or electricity so most campers would need to rely on a campground shower. Hopefully in the near future they can take care of this extreme deficiency.

Did a poor job communicating the generator requirements

The campground was close and convenient with nice open sites and well kept bathrooms. However, the shower situation was absolutely awful. The only showers were in the main bathhouse and were pay showers that did not work correctly. Both times that they were used during our stay we overpayed to get the showers running initially and then did not get the full 4 and a half minutes that were payed for and the showers did not adjust temperature. It was either scalding hot or freezing cold. If showers could be added to each loops existing bathhouse it would greatly enhance the stay.

Stayed at the site and took a tour the next day. Great time.

The main campground was just fine. The ranger who checked me in was so courteous and worked with me to change my site to one more to my liking. The next morning I ate breakfast on the grounds of the 1827 Baptist Church and browsed around the cemetery, finding the grave of Floyd Collins, about whom I had read a book. Later I went to Sand Cave, where he lost his life, and hiked back to the Onyx Cave entrance, admiring the CCC improvements along the way. The park is a treasure indeed.
