My wife and I visited Mammoth Cave National Park for three days in our campervan with our two dogs, and we had an absolutely fantastic experience! We stayed in Campground Loop C, which was peaceful and well-maintained. The sites were spacious, and the proximity to the parks trails and visitor center made it incredibly convenient. For the cave tours, we did the 4-hour Grand Avenue Tour and the 2-hour lantern-lit Great Onyx Lantern Tour. Both were amazing but completely different experiences! The Grand Avenue Tour showcased the vastness and diversity of the cave system, with jaw-dropping formations and an adventurous trek that felt like stepping into another world. Our tour guides, Brendan and Jackie were a great team and brought a ton of energy and knowledge to create an unforgettable experience. The Great Onyx Lantern Tour was more intimate and atmospheric, with the soft glow of lanterns adding a touch of mystery and history to the experience. Highly recommend doing a tour if you have the time and energy!Outside the cave, we loved walking the surface trails and taking in the beauty of the surrounding forest. Our dogs enjoyed exploring the pet-friendly areas, though they couldnt join us on the cave tours (understandable, of course). If youre visiting, bring good walking shoes for the tours and make sure to book your cave tours in advancespots fill up quickly, especially for the unique lantern-lit ones. Mammoth Cave is a must-visit for anyone who loves adventure and natural beauty!

The sites are nicely spaced and they located in wooded areas

Clean and quiet. The site was rainy and wet, but we managed to figure out a dry spot to setup our small tent. The shower and store facilities were clean and had everything we needed. Including a post office. The shower change machine only took $1 and $5 bills. The park lodge and main building were walking distance away.

Campground itself was super; well-maintained, level sites with appropriate isolation. Grills in good working order. Ample trash receptacles. Showers just OK, since half of the money spent went to just heat the water; charging less or giving more time could be the remedy. A constant flow hot water system would be prohibitively expensive.

We loved the location of the campground and how close it is to the visitor center and hiking/biking trails. Our stay was during spring break so the kayak outfitters were not up and running yet but there was still plenty to do and see. Some of the campsites were close together, but most are pleasantly spaced out. The bathrooms were very clean, but they are small considering there is only one set per loop. I could see that being a slight hassle during peak season. The cave tours were epic and definitely live up to its namesake. Even though it was "off season" they still had a good variety of tours (buy tickets in advance!) We only stayed 3 nights so we didn't get to explore the entirety of the park grounds, definitely would recommend staying longer if you want to see it all!

The campsite was within walking distance to the Visitor's Center which was great.

Nice campground. Campsites well spaced - not at all like some of the tightly spaced campgrounds.
Clean bathrooms, conveniently located near the main cavern entrance.

If you opt for a drive through site get it on the right side of loop or your door will face traffic

Rangers very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly. Staff at counter for tickets not as nice.

The sites are nicely separated so you'er not on top of each other. We love being in the wooded campgrounds. Site pads could be a little wider. There was about a 6" drop off the pad to the ground which made the first step going into our camper about 15-18" high. The grounds were very well kept and a must see are the caves. We were there 20 years ago so this was our second visit.

The cave was great , we enjoyed our time underground. We took the modified historic tour the guide was good and the walk through the cave was great and very enjoyable. The only complaint I have is the number of people on the tour. We only heard the guide at the beginning and the end. I understand all parks are overcrowded but the 25 or more people on one tour was way to many.
