What a fantastic campground! Plenty of good biking trails and nature walks to be had. The sites were large and there is plenty of space in between to spread out with a hammock or chairs. A very safe place for the kids to roam and cycle about. Restrooms were clean and showers had nice hot water.

Campground was quite, sites were spacious. Park is pretty, lots of cleanup was going on due to the recent storms that went thru Kentucky.

Great camping park adjacent to cave park. Could walk or ride bikes. Rails to trails bike path. Beautiful scenery.
Caves were spectacular.
Most knowledgeable cave guides.

The campground and staff are wonderful. The sites are large enough not to feel cramped by people next door. Even though it is all dry camping, the are plenty of bathrooms throughout the campground.
The camp store has the bare essentials, and souvenirs. There's even a small Post Office on site. If you like dry camping with no hook ups, this is the place. Only negatives for me are there is a major sewer replacement project going on with construction equipment all over the place. It would have been nice to know that before we made reservations. We might have gone somewhere else. The other issue is the only shower is at the entrance to the campground by the store. It is marginal at best. Bring plenty of quarters. We would have given it four stars without the construction project.

Campground was nice and clean. A little tight for our setup full size truck and 30' travel trailer. Bathrooms were clean and nice. Close walk to the mammoth cave visitors center.

Overall, we had a positive experience at Mammoth Cave Campground. There was a problem when I registered for our campsite #38 in January, 2021. All the sites showed unavailable except site 38, so I reserved it! Well, come to find out, in January they really wanted to block all sites and they didn't realize they left one site available. So, at 7:30pm on July 9th when we arrived at the campground, a couple was already camping on our site! Of course we didn't realize all the history I've just explained. Well, this VERY NICE couple from Kentucky offered to share site 38 with us! We found a ranger at the ranger talk area and he said just take any empty site. Well, that didn't work out because after we got our tent up, at another site, a family of 4 showed up at 8:30pm wondering why we were on their site!! So we decided to stay on site 38 with that nice couple. IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITY: Have a phone number to call at the campground office -- outside the office for campers to call if they have a problem. It took a long time to find a ranger to help us. Another ranger came to our site the next day and went out of her way to apologize to us, she was so nice. Mistakes happen and it actually caused us to meet two very nice people. The nice ranger (a woman) gave us our money back for the night and told us we could set up our camp on the next site over, but we were comfortable sharing site 38, so we just stayed where we were. Overall, great experience at Mammoth Cave Campground. Thank you very much!!

We loved our days at Mammoth Cave National Park. We camped in a 32-foot trailer. Not having full hook-ups (especially electric) was an inconvenience but we managed. We used a generator to cool the trailer during the day but at night, it would still get really warm and hard to sleep (camped in July). Still, it was a quiet, beautiful campground with wildlife all around. The cave tours were incredible. We did the Historic Modified tour. Highly recommend. The Rangers and other employees were very nice and helpful. An employee at the gift store recommended a pizza restaurant (Turtlelini's Pizza and Pasta in Horse Cave, KY). It is a must for those wanting some local food.
