Ranger Aaron was fantastic. Such a great experience for the whole family.

Had a great time, even in the persistent rain. The campground was clean and quiet, and we even had some deer grazing in the empty campsite next to us!

Site 89 is great for being close to the restrooms. My only complaint is that it was generator nation. Anyone wanting to use electric should get an electric site. I don’t feel generators and coaches should be allowed to book sites in the non-electric section and then have generators going non stop. From a few minutes before 8am until the ranger physically drives around to tell everyone to turn them off at 8:15, there are generators running non stop. Not peaceful or quiet if that’s what you’re looking for. Some sites even had multiple generators going because they clearly couldn’t score an electric site. The site across from me was turning theirs on at 7:30am and even after the ranger told them to turn it off at 8:15, they turned it off until he drove away and then ran it all night long too….and there’s no one to complain to really about it. Disappointing for a National park campground. Also, my site had trash left over from the last people all over so I had to clean it myself…

Very noisy....Generators run all day long. Was to have no generator running after 8:00 pm but they were running up to 10:00 pm. No rangers were there to enforce the time off.

We loved the campground in the woods. Very close to the cave entrance, which was a nice plus.

If staying at the Campground you will need your own vehicle for transportation to the the Accessible Tour entrance from the Visitor Center.

I was extremely disappointed at the campground noise. A very noisy cement truck arrived at 6:45 am and started dumping cement few yards away from my camping site.
It took me over 5 years to realize my dream and see the world’s largest cave system. When compared to over 1/2 a dozen caves visited around the world, I was dissatisfied. It felt like visiting a mine, and not a famous cave. The best thing about the Mammoth Cave National Park was the walk in the nature with decently marked paths. I will not return to this park!

We had another great trip to Mammoth Cave! General store closes at 5 pm, which was a bummer when we arrived and they don’t sell real firewood. Overall very nice site and bathroom facilities. Would recommend.

I loved how convenient the campground was to the caves, visitor center, and store. My only negative at all is the lack of power and water, but that is pretty standard for a National Park.

Location, Location, Location! Only a 10 minute walk to the Visitor Center and Caves. The camp store was large and carried all your essentials and lots of fun things. Hiking trails started right from the campgrounds and the bike path is at the entrance of the campgrounds. We were there during COVID so no showers or laundry. A laundry at a National Park is a huge plus. Sites were close but large enough you did not notice. There are trails for every ability and the caves are amazing. Near the Visitor Center is also a restaurant and ice cream shop.

Excellent campground - very close to visitor center. Very few spots taken during Thanksgiving week (during covid). Store was closed - covid. Nice walking paths nearby leading into/out of camp.

I really enjoyed our stay at the campgrounds. We stayed in our converted van. We felt comfortable, the space we rented for the night was nicely kept, and we were a decent distance from people camping nearby. The bathrooms were nice and not too far away from where we were. We loved going on the self-guided tours in the caves. It was so vast and cool, literally and figuratively.
