Mammoth Cave was the most amazing place Ive ever seen. The caves were so amazing all on their own but the facilities were always clean and functional. Every employee seemed genuinely happy to be there and everyone was so helpful. I had never been to Kentucky, other than passing through, and its beauty surpassed all expectations! This was a solo trip for me and I cant wait to bring my family back. The camping area was also wonderful! Only next time I will camp in tent only area so I wont be near loud generators during the day. I only got to do three tours and there is so much more I want to see there. I havent stopped talking about Mammoth Cave and Im pretty sure my family is tired of hearing it. They all know about many of the cave histories and dates and events pertaining to Floyd Collins unfortunate end. Ive bought a few books while there that will give me more insight to the amazing area and its caves!

Perfect for location visiting mammoth caves. Daniel the ranger was so helpful in finding an alternative site for us when we had to move

Easy to make appointment and not necessary to stop at office and the site is available early afternoon - great benefit

It was pretty noisy with people driving in late and the sites were relatively close together which made it loud. The tent campground is also very close to the road that goes into the park so hearing the cars come in sort of removes the nature experience. However, campsite itself was nice. It is nice that it’s so close to the cave- only a 3 minute drive.

Our reservation got changed by the park a few days prior to our arrival. We were asked to move sites because someone else had been displaced. The whole experience made no sense. A call-back was promised to offer an explanation but one was never received.
The campground is fine and the bathrooms were clean, but we had rowdy neighbors and a less than average experience.
