Our campsite was nice and level. Bathrooms were close, but trail lights weren't working. The campground is very dark, and those lights would have made navigation to restrooms alot easier. Showers took a bit to figure out, as far as getting the temperature right.

We used the main camp grounds ...loved it when picking a spot use c loop if there has been a lot of rain. The rest flood. But there is always a bathroom close to all spots and they are cleaned daily

The rest rooms were very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the cave tours and the leaders did a great job. The trip at Mammoth Cave was very enjoyable and we will be coming back.

Campground shower service was terrible. Make sure you bring a lot of quarters in advance!

I could not bring myself to shower in the coin operated showers at Mammoth Cave Campground, and I desperately needed a shower from the heat. Instead I wiped down by a bathroom sink. The shower stalls appeared filthy, and to pay $1.50 for a 4.5 minutes where the temperature of the water could not be controlled, seemed like extortion from weary travelers. Of course the tour of the cave system was amazing and so I suspect the campground does not have much incentive to improve since it is convenient for those touring the cave to use the Mammoth Cave Campground.

A tour of the Kentucky State Capital was beautiful and highly recommended.

Campsite was within walking distance to visitor center and camp store. Restrooms were clean. Shower at camp store but we did not use. Enjoyed two cave tours. Many short hiking trails from campground, maps available at visitor center.

Had not been to Mammoth Cave Campground in a few years, and found that the campsites have improved, including the restrooms. Arrived on a Sunday, and no one was at the campground check-in entrance, so we went right to our reserved site. We reserved a pull-thru site which made it easy to park and get our gear set up quicker (no fussing around in having to back in). Campground and restroom was clean, and we had no noisy neighbors, with everyone observing the prescribed quiet hour times. Will definitely return next season.

We arrived on a Thursday night and by Friday afternoon a burn ban was placed that prevented us from cooking any of our meals as you could only cook with a propane grill. This really limited our experience as we had to resort to eating in town as opposed to buying spending $100+ on a grill and tank.

Very nice government relatively rustic campground with no hookups. Restrooms were clean and as comfortable as such places can be, water was conveniently available, and camping locations were spacious. Contact with Rangers was positive and friendly. A basic store had necessities and wood (compressed shavings) was abundant. A very good experience.

April 2021: We tent camped at the Mammoth Cave campgrounds. The sites are spacious and shaded. Bathhouses were clean. Coin operated showers available 24/7 behind camp store. But get firewood by 5 pm. We enjoyed the Historic tour. Rangers stationed along the route gave interesting talks. We hiked several trails by the campground (moderate inclines). We crossed the Green River (on a secure ferry!) to the Big Hollow trail north loop trail - flat, wooded, lots of wide flowers, and 7 miles round trip from the Maple Springs trailhead. We enjoyed our weekend at this beautiful and well kept National Park!

We really had a good time visiting Mammoth Caves. It was a last minute plan & using the website made it possible. Would have liked the website to be more user friendly but the Park was fantastic. A definite must see!
