We love to camp and hike at Mammoth Cave. The campsites are generously sized, the bathrooms are clean and convenient. We cook most of our meals, but also enjoy going to the Green River Grill at the lodge. The cave tours sell out quickly, so you might want to make reservations ahead of time. Highly recommended!

We were expecting to have showers at each campground loop, None... Long walk to campground store, then only 2 showers available for an additional $1.50 for 4 minutes. Interior of campground bathrooms almost needs updating. No electric at campsites either. Disappointing. Our national park here at Sleeping Bear Platte river campground has extremely nice restrooms and showers, free. And 3 of the 4 camping loops have electricity hookups.I did like the system where it notifies us when there are openings in the tours. We were very surprised to find all tours booked up for the weekend as we had no idea that they have 'fall break" at the schools down there, and it was very busy. It was a beautiful time of year to visit the park, with nice weather too.

We enjoyed our stay at Mammoth Cave National Park because the Cave tours were excellent and there were also some great hiking trails. But the campground itself was only average. The layout for the sites wasn't good, with many of the tables and firepits set up on the wrong side of the site for travel trailers and RVs. There appeared to be very few campground staff and they never drove through the campground doing checks while we were there. There wasn't any real firewood available, only pressed sawdust blocks which didn't burn well and were very difficult to use for cooking over the fire.

We enjoyed staying at this quiet campground. It is a fairly large campground, but there is plenty of space among the sites, which makes each site feel private and somewhat secluded. We found it easy to access the restrooms, water faucets, and recycling center. This campground made for a pleasant place to stay after a day spent touring Mammoth Cave.

The campground was great, but I was disappointed in the lack of free shower facilities.
