The campground was beautiful, restrooms were clean and well stocked, and the nearby campground store and lodge had everything you might need in a pinch. Would definitely recommend!

We camped one night, and had to find a hotel the second night. There were a lot of dead tree limbs above our campground, and due to the heavy rain, one massive limb fell about 10 ft. from where our tent was set up. They offered for us to move to a different site, but we had already packed up to leave. The campground was well equipped, the bathrooms were very clean as well as the showers and laundry area.

Nice level site in a peaceful campground. Easy to walk or drive to the camp store, lodge, and visitor center. The dump/water fill station is behind the store, which is before the check in/registration spot, so it may make sense to fill up with water before you check in. The team member who checked us in when we arrived was friendly and helpful. During our stay, we did some hiking above ground and did both the Historic cave tour and the Domes and Dripstones tour. Both were interesting and well worth it.

The Historical Tour was well worth it. The Mammoth Dome was defiantly the highlight.

We were happy the campground was open in March. There were no hook-ups, but other than having to run out generator to cook, that's fine with us. The campground had a trail that led to everywhere we needed to go, so we didn't have to move our RV at all. There was plenty of firewood to gather for a campfire, and dogs are welcome on the trails if they're on a leash, so we were pleased.The caves were not as spectacular as others we've seen, but worth the tour of you get a better guide thank we had. Also, 118 people together for the tour was too much.

Major Issues
@MichaelE481757 · Camped on Apr 21, 2022 at Campsite #62
Site C62 was wooded and level. The picnic table and fire grate were on the opposite side of what is usually expected. The Rangers responded promptly when it was brought to their attention that guests at a different site were trying to burn a 4 foot tall tree stump they had rolled into their fire grate. The laundry facility had 3 washers and 3 driers at $1.75 per load. Cavers general store served some food items including a made from scratch pizza which was quite good. Nearby the Campground was a small steam engine which was used to transport guests earlier in the park's history unfortunately it was completely covered in tarps and could not be seen. The main lodge and restaurant was closed for major remodeling in a multi year project. The visitor center was nicely laid out, very informative and the staff was very helpful. Cave tours could be scheduled there or on line. WIFI was available at the visitor center and Cavers Store.

The campground was very pretty and the bathrooms were clean and nice. The issue was small hornets. We were in campsite 61 and the hornets were everywhere. We reserved 4 nights. The first day we noticed the hornets but thought they would go away. The second day it rained so no hornets. The third day the hornets came back, we have a tent trailer and about 15 were in the trailer when we got back from a cave tour. The fourth day we went hiking and when we returned about 1:00 pm there were about 30 hornets in our trailer and they were all around the campsite. We got the hornets out and left the campground a night early. I do not recommend site 61 but don't know about the other campsites. I got stung 3 times and was miserable trying to get away from them. The ranger we talked to said they were not aggressive but we did get stung.

It was a nice clean campground. I didn't care that the only shower facility was at the general store and that you had to pay to shower. There were several hiking trails in the area that are suitable for about anyone.
