Site 046 B gets 3/5 stars because there is a huge dead tree right next to wear our tent would have been. Not safe at all for anyone, especially with 3 small children. Was unable to find any ranger or campground host to address this situation. Overall nice campground and if the dead tree is removed, the site will be excellent for a large tent. Nice spots for hammocks.

It was a 3 day weekend. The campground was full of families having a nice time. The facilities are ancient at the campgrounds and beautiful at the visitor center(s) there are 2 big centers adjacent to each other with big restrooms. The campground is under a thick canopy of trees and is damp. The picnic tables are cement. It is not comfortable, but adequate.

The campground and bathroom were very clean and safe. We loved riding our bikes everywhere on the park grounds and campground. The camp store had the missing items we forgot. I was disappointed with the showers, but we were able to shower. I would highly recommend shower shoes. It would be awesome if they put some kind of shelf in there to put you dry clothes or your dry towel on, but at the end of the day it wasn't a deal breaker. We are already planning our next visit. I highly recommend going to visitor center each day and see what activities they are offering that day; they are well worth going too; and very informational.

This is a great site! Although the trees on both sides of the pad may limit the use of awnings and slide outs the rear of the site where the table and fire ring are at is huge. You can pivot your camp chairs for an unobstructed view of the woods. The pad is very level as well. Beautiful site.

Great campground. It was beautiful and we enjoyed the whole park with the campground as our base camp. Staff was friendly and super helpful in guiding us to a great camp site.

I have lived in KY for 24 years and always express to people living outside of here how beautiful, and wonderfully inspiring Mammoth Cave truly is. The cave system is incredible and still manages to astound me no matter how many times Ive taken tours, and the same tours over again. I have been a Mammoth Cave visitor since I was in grade school, and now I have taken my husband to the park to show him the place that still amazingly haunts my imagination as an adult. The campground is a perfect place to unwind after a corporate flooded week, and provides enough amenities if you are not feeling like roughing it, but is secluded and overgrown enough to feel one with nature. Most sites offer plenty of trees for hammocks, and you can search for enough firewood to last a few days if you take a short hike on the walking trails around your site. We have come back to Mammoth Cave four times since we moved back to KY full time and are enjoying watching the park evolve each season. Visitors bring their dogs, ride their bikes, hike, and spend much needed quality moments with their kids. It is a joy to observe everyones unique experiences even though everyone is there to do the same thing relax in nature! I will continue to recommend people add Mammoth Cave to their sight seeing bucket-list forever.

Campground was well kept & clean. Fire pits were well maintained.
Even after visiting the caves, stayed and did hiking in the area.

Beautiful campground, clean restrooms. The extra space (thanks to Covid) is nice. There was a family of deer that wandered through the grounds daily. The only negative is the showers are not available, so bring baby wipes.
