Dry nice trip. Overall, the campground was nice, bathrooms very clean, everyone followed the quiet rules, and it was a beautiful place! Loved the cave tours and welcome center

Great campground . Large sites that are level and clean. Quiet. No hookups but potable water is close by. Bathrooms were clean and close by. Showers are in the main camp store building. They cost 1.50 / 4 min and were clean. The campground is about a 10 min walk to the visitors center

My daughter and I were looking for a campground that was clean, quiet, and had a lot of trees for more privacy, and to provide that "woodsy" experience. Mammoth Cave Campground was perfect! It met every expectation. The camp spot and restrooms were very clean. The trash area was a short walk and kept very tidy. After about 9 pm, it got extremely quiet. We had a mama deer and her babies come right into our camp site at night! It was amazing. We had plenty of space for our large tent. The camp store had what we needed, including showers, which we didn't use but it's nice to know they're available. There are hiking trails you can access at the campground (awesome!) and many other hiking trails a minutes drive away. We enjoyed the cave tours at Mammoth Cave and at Onyx Cave (Onyx Cave was pretty cool once you got inside)! We also drove to Bowling Green to see the Corvette Museum. We spent some time in Cave City antiquing and stopping at little shops here and there. We had an outstanding time, albeit too short. We hope to come again and stay longer.

I enjoyed my stay here. Although I was only here for a night and arrived in driving rain my site was open and available and my stay enjoyable. I'll be back.

The hikes in the southern part of the Park really helped us understand the watershed and the flow of the river, the sinkholes and the formation of the caves.

We tent camped Sunday thru Tuesday. There were more people than we expected considering the days of the week. The campground was so quiet, however! People were very respectable about using generators. Hardly heard them and they weren't on for long. It was very quiet at night. There is so much tree cover we could hardly see any other lights from other campsites. And the bathrooms were some of the cleanest I've seen. Some of the campsites did feel too close to each other and others had more space. The site next to us backed up to near our picnic table. We couldn't have much of a private conversation but luckily a couple of fantastic women camped next to us and we made new friends! Also, the plaques saying what feature of the cave was below our feet was a real treat! It was fun trying to find them all. We didn't get to spend time exploring the park, but we did make the quick ride up to Lincoln's Birthplace. It is a wonderful memorial and very informative of his life in Kentucky and his family's story of arriving in Kentucky. We also had a delicious meal at the Water Mill restaurant in Cave City. Cheap all you can eat buffet with tender catfish. And the staff were extremely nice.

The facilities are amazing, but theres not a whole lot to do there. The trails and overlooks all pretty much look the same as the area around your campsite. The cave is really interesting. Make sure you reserve a tour before going. Walk-ins were in line for two hours before the tourist center opened. Also, the ice cream at the Spelunkers Cafe was really nice. We camped here because the park is dog friendly with a kennel for your dog while you visit the cave. It was a good weekend.
