Nice campground, but a bit difficult to find a flat location for our tent. Water and restrooms were convenient, but pay showers that only work with quarters meant that two of us got 4-minute showers, and I did without. Id rather pay a few dollars more for the campsite and have free showers.

Beautiful, peaceful campground only a short walk from the visitor's center. We looked into staying at other campsites in the area, but the convenience of staying at Mammoth Cave Campground the night before our morning cave tour was easy and fun!

A must see for any budding geologist, and quite frankly anyone. Its hard to explain the vastness of the caves. The campground was super, as were the people who ran the shop and visitors center. A return visit is in the works.

We had a lovely time camping at Mammoth Cave campground, highly recommend this spot to anyone that loves camping. The campground was quiet, comfortable and well-maintained and park staff (rangers and park police) were available and seemed to keep an eye on things. Rangers were very approachable and helpful, they were extremely knowledgeable and professional. Just the right balance of being in the woods and knowing that staff were around if you needed them.

This was one of the best sites I have ever stayed at. The bathrooms were clean and the sites are located right next to a very picturesque trail head that leads to the visitor center as well as other trails within the park.

Easy check in, good price, central to attractions and camp store, good amount of space between camp sites.

This is a standard rustic NP campground. Most of the sites are shady and have good separation from the neighbors. The campground is within easy walking distance of several trails, the visitor center, and cave tours. The Cavers Camp store is very close and has unlimited refills on coffee and many items you might want while camping. One downside - although the bathrooms in the campground have flush toilets and sinks, there are no showers. There are coin operated showers at the Cavers Camp store. They only take quarters - no credit card option. Also, this is a rustic campground - no electricity or water/sewer, so plan accordingly. If you want firewood, head toward Cave City. There are several options. We found one spot selling it by the wheelbarrow load.

We got in quite late and someone else was in our campsite. Luckily there was an open site fairly close and we were able to set up for the night. We were only staying one night so it all worked out fine.

All aspects of our two day visit were first rate! The park staff were excellent and we enjoyed the cave tours.

The campground is very well taken care of. Sites are not on top of one another, and very well planned out. Will definitely be planning another trip there.

Other than the US Gov't completely FAILING to control the weather... it was a nice stay!

Seriously? Work on that climate change people. I don't want all summer to be rainy and thunderstorms because we frelled the planet.

This was our second visit to the cave, the first was 35 years ago. The visitor facilities are spectacularly improved. We could only take a self guided "historical" tour, but it gave a wonderful overview, and the Rangers in the cave gave excellent presentations at their stations. .

Because of the one way traffic flow, our site was backwards to be used conveniently. Other than that it was a good site near the restrooms which were clean and well-maintained.

You need to open up the shower facilities and more of the cave. There is no logic to having these closed down now.
