Very nice campground with lots of shade, the sites are good sized and open enough to get sunlight but still some shade coverage, but that depends on the site. Site 101 was great. Not far from the bathroom. Bathrooms are alright but nothing special.

Mammoth Cave National Park was a highlight for us. I have never been down inside a cave so big, and I found it quite interesting how the Rangers told us about the known history of this wonder of the world.

Beautiful, large site we were able to secure! The only thing we didn’t like were the pay showers. The timing seems different between each shower so I spent more than expected. Luckily my daughter was in the stall next to me so I could get change from her while all soapy.

Best National Park we have ever been to! Family friendly, tons of activities, great staff, a must visit.
Beautiful campground, the facilities are clean. My only comment would be that the ladies’ shower facilities include a private changing area. Loved the park. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We stayed for 2 nights in June on a tent-only campsite. The campground is located in a secluded, forested area with tall trees. Because of that, you don't get much direct sunlight, which is mostly filtered through the canopy. The campground is a short walk (5-10 min) to the meeting points for the cave tours (shelters A and B), which are located right outside the visitor center. The campground is well maintained and there were park staff patrolling the area or cleaning up around the campsites pretty regularly. Each section of the campground has a set of restrooms (no showers, though, just two urinals and a toilet). There are coin showers at the adjacent service center. At the service center there's also a US Postal office, a store, and a laundry area with washing machines and dryers. There are water pumps by the restrooms and a potable water pump by the service center. Each campsite had a circular fire pit with a grill. You can buy firewood at the store. We got no cell phone coverage at the campsite (Metro PCS), but we did get some signal at certain points around the park, like the picnic area by the visitor center. Mosquitoes were not an issue but watch out for ticks. Lots of deer in the area. Other than visiting the cave, there are a few trails around the visitor center, all of them short and easy. The trail along the Green River has scenic views, and the Styx River Spring is worth visiting.
The bathrooms were always clean at the campground. The Historic Tour was wonderful with the rangers spaced out to answer questions.

We loved the Mammoth Cave Campground for our two night stay in the park. It only takes ~10 minutes to walk to the visitors center/cave tours from the park. You can additionally make several loops from the campground around the trail system. Bathrooms were updated and clean.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
