Old-school campground with basic unserviced campsites. Quiet, except for the occasional sound of generators. Site 55 is a pull thru, but recommend backing out, because big trees on both sides of the exit creates an awkward angle for turning. Lots of trees and shade so our solar was weaker. Weak cell, no wifi (unless you go to visitor center). The Visitor Center is 10 minute walk away. Access to nice trails right out of the campground. Great location for cave tours.

The facilities, cave tour and camping were all fantastic. I loved that I could hike trails, walk to the visitor center and to the tour starting point from the campground. All facilities were clean and well maintained. The cave tour and our guide was one of the best tours i have taken.

We love national parks. Stayed at Mammoth campground two nights. We were able to walk up to the camp store and the visitor center. We made a last-minute decision to take our grandson, so we were only able to do the self-guided tour.

The Historic Cave tour exceeded our expectations! We were able to see so many unique sections of the cave and our guide was amazing and informative! The Sunset Terrace room was comfortable and roomy. Overall, we had a 10/10 experience!

The staff were friendly and courteous. The campsite was fine for a primitive site, the shower room was so outdated and a little gross and the cost to take a shower was a bit ridiculous for the condition of the showers. I did not take a shower. I would suggest if you are going to charge for showers that you at least have updated clean facilities in order to do so.

Site didn't have electricity. Was not informed when speaking with RECREATION.gov agent. Asked to speak with agent after spending 30 minutes trying to use RECREATION.gov website to make reservation. At Park while taking with campground host I was stung by a wasp. With more wasps flying around I was attempting to talk with campground host (who was inside) while I was standing outside. Host did not offer shelter from wasps. I abandoned conversation. It was late afternoon. Host said his shift was over in 10 minutes. Nearest possible alternative campsites were 30 miles away.

You need to make a reservation far ahead for a campsite with hookups. We had a good site without hookups for two nights. We were able to get one of the last 2 reserved sites three weeks before our trip.

This was an amazing trip. I had never been camping before and the campgrounds were beautiful and spacious. Pre-scheduling tours is a must, but if you show up to the visitor center early they might add on tours for the day. The trails were beautiful and well kept. The self guided discovery tour is also great, and if you line it up to be in -between the historical tour times it feels like you have the whole cave to yourself.

The campground is in excellent condition and our campsite was perfect. The fire ring had a grate that was connected to the ring that you could lower/higher based on what you were cooking, it was very convenient.

The Campground was clean and had a great camp store nearby. We were in an RV and was able to find our spot easily and it was nicely shaded.

Very well maintained campsites, close to Mammoth Cave Visitors Center (easy to walk to), paths in campground are paved and great for bike riding, or walking. Next to camp store. Bathrooms were clean.

The campground was very Nice and clean, only down falls was they need more electric and water hook ups for RVs and I thought it was kinda messed up they had Public shower house closed because of Covid-19 but had the Bathrooms open that are way smaller that the sinks and toilets wasnt even 6 feet apart at all that not only myself but I seen 4 other females washing their hair and bodies at the sink. So how is the shower House and bathrooms be any different? it Shouldnt! Should of had the shower house open too!
