The campsites weren't great, but what I expected in a public campground. I was disappointed that the showers were not easy to find and had such limited hours. The park itself, was wonderful.he trails are well - marked and interesting. The tours I took were good, with guides that listened to questions, pacing and had a lot of information to share.

TLDR: Very, very well kept campground, but bring your own (and plenty of) change for showers!Convenient water spickets, generally shaded tent sites, and air conditioned bathrooms really makes Mammoth campground stand out in comparison to other national park campgrounds. Getting to brush our teeth and get dressed in the a/c was a real treat to beat that Kentucky heat! It was also conveniently located near the visitor center, and there were maps put up near the bathrooms to find every trash can, camping loop, or other such amenity with ease. Park Rangers patrolled and the bathrooms were cleaned regularly, so it all felt very secure and well kept as well. And the !!!fireflies!!! were so gorgeous! The only thing we really missed were showers we had been planning on after a much "rougher" stint of camping followed by days in the car! Alas. As a water saving feature, the showers are a rather steep price for a few minutes, then forcing you to fumble with another quarter every thirty seconds as you try to rinse soap out of your hair if you cannot beat the clock at 4 minutes. What prevented us from getting to shower was not being cheapskates though -we would have paid and just rushed as intended, buuuut... the change machine was broken. No quarters = no showers. Stuck out of luck, and in the stagnant heat of the hottest, most humid state I have ever been in (and I LIVE in Florida!)((seriously, it didn't even touch 90f until after midnight)). So we were back to baby wipe baths and dry shampoo like much of the rest of our trip, which was fine but disappointing after getting our hopes up. Lol! Thank God we were only there 2 nights, so we got cleaned up at our next stop.Altogether, it is a nice place and well kept.

Very Clean and well maintained. I did have a couple questions, but never could find the campground official.
