Houchins Ferry Campground is very clean and the bathrooms were extra clean. We were very impressed. You were almost right on the water. Will be going back. Thank you.

Our group liked there were a limited number of sites that were spread out really well. The toilets were large and clean. Big enough to change clothes in. Great access to the Green River for the paddle to Brownsville. The campground is isolated enough to fell like you are off the grid, but close enough to amenities like grocery, gas, restaurants for quick runs if needed.

Basic campsites with a concrete picnic table, fire ring and grill grate, parking pad, and space for a good sized tent. Large port-a-pots but no where to shower. Only downsides are: Campsites are somewhat small and close together. You will be very aware of your neighbors. Also, if you plan to use the showers at the campstore 20+ minutes away, you have to bring quarters or 1s and 5s for the change machine as showers are coin operated, and there is no ATM or store that will do cash back anywhere within the national park.

Campground was pretty run down and gross. Our campsite was taken over by a large group of Boy Scouts who had their tents pitched all through the back of our site. We ended up not even staying because it was such a disappointment.

Campsites are right on the Green River. Porta-potties for bathrooms with good tasting well water.

Campground was easy to find. Being next to the river was nice and peaceful. Nice fire pits and tables at each site. The portable toilets were very clean. The campsites are pretty small and very close together, so when the campground was pretty full on our first night, it gets loud because youre so close together.

The site was nice for a primitive area. We still were able to get a bit of cell service as well. Make sure you bring your own fire wood as there none to scrounge in the area around the sites. The only issue we had were noisy neighbors at two different sites. One was right next to us and the other was two sites away.

Beautiful clean quiet campground right on the river, but there are zero showers unless you drive around 25 minutes one-way to the main campground showers. Also, the river is beautiful to look it, but it is not easy to get into. One narrow gravel entry, not particularly pleasant. You can get on and off your kayak there; it's functional, but not really fun for swimming. I'd only for 1 night of peaceful beauty w/o any intention to swin or shower.

Nice area on the river. Campsites are closer together than i thought but not too close. Be prepared to drive at least 15 minutes to anything. It was 20 minutes from the visitor center but its a easy drive! The water pump was very easy to use and the water came out cold! The area itself was very nice and relaxing and quiet. Lots of trees so lots of shade everywhere. Would return agian!

Visited Houchin Ferry in early December. Weather was great and there were only a few other campers there. The port o potties were very clean, to the point of zero gross smells (which is a first in my experience) and they had plenty of tp and hand sanitizer. Plus, theyre quite spacious, so if you have a child or two with you who need help with the potty, theres room to spare. Over all, not a busy campground. And no major amenities if thats your thing, but great for hanging with the family, tent camping, playing games, eating campfire-cooked foods, etc.

Sites are within 20 ft of one another. Hopefully you had nice neighbors like we did.
