Very small sites, very close together. Lots of noise from locals hanging out at pavilion.

I really enjoyed my brief 2 nights. It was nice to be at the end of the road, no road traffic noise. Some of the sites are side by side while others are spaced out better. Fortunately the camp was only half full when I went in September so I had no next door neighbors. Porta potties were very well maintained from a man's point of view. Park personnel were very friendly. Great spot for paddle boarding. The old ferry ramp made for good access. Other than the family playing in the water at the rock bar, I was the only one on that stretch of the Green when I went.

Campsites were a tad bit closer to each other than we expected, but other campers were respectful and observed quiet hours during our stay. Portable toilets cleaner than expected, overall a positive experience and would stay again.

This was a nice little primitive campground with all the basics you need, but I feel that it should be cheaper, since they arent providing anything extra aside from the space. Perhaps the camps are a bit close together, but this didnt end up being a problem for my particular night and neighbors. There was also trash in the fire pit that I had to clean up, but that is a result of the previous campers.

Quiet, off the beaten path place with 12 sites. Easy to find and reserve a place.

Houchin Ferry Campground is fine if you're looking for an out-of-the-way and primitive camp spot. Be aware it is ~20 min drive from the main Mammoth Cave entrance / visitor center / trails, etc. and the last mile or so of the lead-in road is narrow and hilly. We would have preferred to stay in the Mammoth Cave or Maple Campgrounds - which are next to/walking distance from the above - but for some reason, those campgrounds were closed in mid-Dec 2022 when we wanted to book. There are no facilities other than some water spickets and port-a-potties. There is a large shelter with picnic tables. The camp spots are all just gravel, so be careful with the bottom of your tents. Due to the narrow / hilly road to get down here, tight-looped driveway, and small camp spots, I would not recommend large RVs / trucks with camper trailers attempt to camp here (it may not even be an option on Rec.gov).

The camp was very well maintained for being off the main areas of the park. The campsites are a little close together, but it's manageable. The portapotties were in surprisingly great condition. The only real negative to report was rude guests staying up and loudly screaming to eachother well past midnight one night.

Clean, quiet. I will say the sites are pretty close together and there was no tent pad it seemed. We threw our tents in the grass where we saw fit. All in all though, it was good. Fire wood scarce. I chopped down an old dead tree back in the woods and was fortunate enough to be camping with some boys that helped me drag it back. I'd come back.

This was a nice quiet campground for us tent campers. Our neighbors were quiet and in bed early, and it was a beautiful spot.

Really enjoyed the setup, the sites were clearly marked and had nice tables as well as a bonus small table with lantern hook, which was a really nice touch. It was a great place to stay, not too crowded and close to everything.
