The finest NPS campground in which Ive ever stayed. The Schoodic Peninsula was such a peaceful respite. Had a wonderful morning hike out of the campground with a return ride courtesy of the Island Explorer!

We had a wonderful time at Acadia Schoodic campground. Our site was beautiful and we enjoyed bike riding and visiting Cadillac Mountain and Schoodic Point. What a trip! We will be talking about it for years to come.

Biking the loop road and then the cross peninsula trail is always fun.Also enjoy a swim at Jones Pond.

Very nice campgrounds, good bathrooms and the electric sites are very convenient. Only complaint is the lack of showers

We spent an enjoyable single night at Schoodic Woods. The sites are not as close to each other as we found at Blackwoods, and the campground was much quieter. We would have liked to stay longer, but were only able to book a single night online; as at other Acadia campgrounds, it seems that some people reserve but do not show up. The strict rules on firewood were impressed upon us by the ranger, but it was clear from charred remains in our site, and the activity of campers from a walk-in site 'borrowing' the site next door to us, that some people burn fallen or even live wood from around their sites. It is a bit odd but not terribly inconvenient that drinking water is available only from the bathroom block. If you arrive before check-in time, you can fill the time on the attractive Lower Harbor trail close to the campsite; a bike trail lets you make a loop and walk back much faster, but it is a bit dull, and more exposed to the sun.

We have camped from Oregon to Florida, California to Maine and all points in between and Schoodic Woods is, without a doubt, the best, cleanest and most private grounds we have ever used. The ONLY thing that would make Schoodic Woods better is water at the sites BUT even without full hookups, Schoodic is #1. Keep up the good work, it is a lovely park!!

Certain staff members at the Schoodic campgrounds made the experience miserable. Park Service employee Brenda harassed me on several occasions because I have a camper van, but stayed in a hike-in tent site. Without any justification other than owning a camper, she called law enforcement on me several times, claiming that a camper van cannot be parked in the Hike-In parking site. There are no rules against staying in a tent site only and parking a camper van in the lot, so law enforcement did nothing. Brenda went out of her way to harass me and distract from the beauty of the park simply because she doesn’t like camper vans in the hike in parking lot. She tried to bully me into leaving the park! I called her bluff, and she called the park police, who said my van is not an issue. Watch out for this tyrant!

The campground didn’t have a shower but other than that great
