Beautiful space, easy access to larger park.

H7 was our campsite. The distance in described in the reservation was accurate. After the vault toilet near the hike-in parking lot the trail becomes very rocky, root crossed, and in some places boggy. You have to carry all your gear in. We had planned for this and it wasnt too bad. The tent pad fit our 10x10 Coleman 6P Sundome just right. The site has an incline and there are a couple flattish spots. The table is well placed. You can be slightly seen through the trees from the hike in trail. Mostly from the SE side looking in. We could see the side of our tent pretty clearly. The stars at night can be seen so clearly. We even saw the Milky Way. Definitely a beautiful site. Very primitive, and you should really think about what you need to avoid hauling pounds of gear in. We would love to use one of these sites again. The rangers were friendly. One ranger checks the sites each day, but just said good morning and made a hasty exit. Definitely an experience in solitude that we greatly enjoyed.

I arrived late, but found the walkin parking lot very easily. The short walk in was well marked and easy to follow even in the dark. The campsite was excellent and in great shape. It wasn't back country camping or hiking but it was more remote than camping in the campground itself. I checked in with the ranger the next morning. The staff there were extremely friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful time for the short time I spent there. My only regret was it was for only that one night. I do not know if my adventures will ever bring me back to Acadia and Schoodic Woods Campground, but I certainly hope so.
