I really enjoyed staying at Group Campground 3! The site is well-maintained, and I appreciated how park staff come by daily to empty trash cans and the recycling bin. When camping in a group, you create a lot of trash, so having those bins regularly cleared makes a big difference. The main reason I rated it four stars instead of five is because of the water faucet at our campsite. Most of the other faucets in the area have newer, easy-turn handles with strong water pressure. Ours had the old, stiff twist knobs that were slow and tough on the fingers, which made filling jugs or washing dishes frustrating. I often walked over to the faucet near the restroom just to get water faster. In terms of scenery, I would personally rank the group campgrounds like this:Group Campground 1 Best scenery and most privacyGroup Campground 2 Beautiful and a close secondGroup Campground 3 Still nice, but the least scenic of the threePrivacy-wise, Group Campground 1 feels the most secluded. Campgrounds 2 and 3 are closer to each other and share the same type of restroom.Speaking of restrooms, these are vault toilets (non-flush, waste goes into a holding tank). Theyre what youd expect for campingno flushing and not the most pleasant smell, though not unbearable. Id rate the smell around 45 out of 10 depending on the wind. Bringing a small air freshener can help. If flush toilets are important, some of the non-group campsites might have them. One thing we enjoyed was seeing squirrels and a few raccoons. It was fun for the kids, but make sure not to leave food out overnight. Either store it in your car or throw away anything youre done with, because wildlife will come by to check for snacks.Overall, even with the minor faucet and restroom drawbacks, I would still recommend Group Campground 3 for a fun group camping experience. The cleanliness, upkeep, and little wildlife sightings made it a great stay!

The camp host was so great! They were so friendly and helpful, highly recommend using them again for your park. And of course, Plaskett is such a beautiful campground.

The location itself is along Highway 1 which is of course very unique. You can hear the ocean in the background. Other than that this was not a good experience; we camped at 8 different campsites on our road trip and this was by far the most expensive and the only one that was a poor experience. We arrived after hours (about 9 pm) which we were told would be fine. Took us 20 minutes to try to find our spot. We had to enlist the help of other campers and still never found our spot. Our reservation said "GS3" which we eventually discovered was Group Spot 3 but Group Spot 3 is not labeled. There are not any signs as you drive along guiding you through the number system. The bulletin board up front guided us to the group spots but the group spots were unlabeled and did not have accessible bathrooms (bathroom was locked). We had a significantly long walk down to the bathrooms the other campers had but paid the same price as they did. Those toilets were port-pottys set outside the original restrooms and some of those were locked. When we found our spot there was no once else camping there and the spot sloped significantly. Be aware the water spigots are non-potable water so you cannot use them for your hands or even rinsing dishes. In the morning tried to find the camp host help to move to the spot we were supposed to be in but still couldn't find anyone. Went down the road to Sand Dollar beach to use their facilities for our morning routine.

Beautiful campground and group sites are perfect for large get togethers. We fit 10 cars with 3 rooftop tents on our site gs3. This year the ticks were really bad our group found several on us so be aware. They have wood and propane tanks available onsite and a store for ice is about 20 mins south so perfectly located.

We rented Group Site #3, the bathrooms were really clean and well-stocked, and the host was awesome upon check-in! We were not allowed to have a campfire due to the ban (for reference today is 10/5/2021), but we brought propane grills that we operated with our CA Campfire permits (https://www.fs.usda.gov/lpnf). The site was good for about 10 tents, it does not go back into the woods as far as the satellite photo shows. We had a few ticks on our legs during midday, but it was not bad at all. Very quiet at night and close to Sand Dollar beach and about 30 mins to Julia Pfeffer park. Would definitely stay here again!

The group site has no place for trailers and is on a hill. No level ground. The small group area grasses were weeds knocked down and surrounded by poison oak.

Beautiful location. Easy walk to Sand Dollar Beach. No cell service at site but if you walk toward the ocean, you will find spots where you can get a signal. Group site seems small for 40 people (we had 21 and that seemed just right). Group site has large BBQ pit which was handy. Group site toilets are NOT flush. Watch out for ticks.
