This campground is gorgeous and well-located. As a tent camper who likes quiet, here are the things I learned. The sites on the N side will likely be impacted by the sound of a generator which runs at strange hours at Pacific Valley School. Perhaps not in summer when classes aren't in session, but it was definitely a factor the first time there.
This place is basically a wide open grassy meadow with trees. Campsites on the edges are secluded but far from bathroom and water. Also the center sites are sunnier and more open. However the sites along the edges are near the trees and will stay wet all day long, especially in winter.

A beautiful campground with nice spacing between spots. However, generator hours are a bit short 10-6. Also, fire restrictions when it’s been raining for weeks is a little ridiculous. I found the camp host wonderful despite recent reviews. No phone service in the campground but I had a few bars across the street and a bit south with att.

The campsite was well taken care of, the Camp Host was on their toes keeping everyone lined out. !

Great campground with easy walk to the beach. Campground was very clean and quiet. Camp host was very hospitable and polite. Stayed at site 23. Very private grass area surrounded by trees and bushes, like a private park. Large rock behind parking pad, but you could stuff a 30ft rv in there if needed. No dumstation and water spigots are not threaded.

The hosts have been excellent lately. The campground looks really good and everything is kept clean.
Former camp hosts, Berry and Susan got promoted but they were filling in for the currents hosts while I was there. It was good to see them, they deserved to get promoted.
Plaskett Campground is in good shape, just busy.

Plaskett Creek is a wonderful campground for families. Across the street is Sandollar Beach for great beach activities.
This campground is grassy! Each campsite has grass and there is a central grass field. This was important to me because I live in dry California and my dogs miss my once green front lawn.
Plaskett Creek is close to Big Sur to the north and San Simeon & Cambria to the south. Both offer fun excursions like Hearst Castle and good restaurants.
I like this campground for the peace and quiet and the lovely grass.
Watch out for Big Sur locals - they tend not to be tourist friendly!

An overall great experience. This campground attracts younger families, and it is common for kids to play throughout the campground. The campground hosts (Adeline and others) do a very good job overseeing the venue.
