This is a great location in southern Big Sur. During my stay hwy 1 was closed a few miles north of the campground so there was very little traffic which made it quiet and delightful. Great access to the beach and bluff trails. I found the camp host to be very friendly and helpful and all other campers were quiet and respectful. I would definitely go back before the highway opens up.

Fantastic hosts that worked hard making campers comfortable, sharing knowledgeable travel tips, and keeping the campground clean. Sand Dollar beach is incredible!

Fantastic campground steeped in all the enchantment and magic of Big Sur. Friendly folks and a variety of spaces available. Site 35 was quite large but much of the ground was sloped; I was happy to place my tent on a soft patch of grass near the road at the front of the site; I was worried it might not be as private but it was perfect and woke me up with sun in the mid-morning and shaded in the afternoon. Glimpses of the ocean through the trees and the mountain to the north. Private but with a full view of the campground; pleasantly surprised by a black cat that passed through multiple times and tons of birds including quail. Bathrooms made a nice addition but the sinks were not in order.

A full campground, but thats to be expected here. Easy in and out. Fire pit and grill stand worked perfectly.

Plaskett Creek Campground was absolutely fantastic! The best part were the park Rangers who operate the site!

We could not tell from the campsite photos that many of the sites have a shorter driveway and only half of which may be level. We were sleeping in two cars, so we hoped to switch sites to a more level one for both cars. The camp host (Ken) was off duty for the days we were there, but even so helped us sort this campsite situation out temporarily and gave us a lot of useful info. The next day, the relief camp host (Michael) arrived and in a most friendly manner assured us he would find us a campsite with a flatter driveway for our two cars by the time we returned from our day of exploring the area. And that's exactly what happened. Also, Michael gave us a lot of info about how to find jade stones on Sand Dollar beach, and wonderful waterfalls to hike to. The vibe at this campground is so friendly and the campsites and bathrooms are so clean and neat, it is a real pleasure to stay here.

Camped in June 2023. Great camp hosts. Mike and Punky were super accommodating and nice. Came by and checked on us and visited. Nice campground, good facilities. There is one threaded spigot in the campground just in case that’s how you fill up your camper. No phone service except for one small area at front gate. Very close to the Sand Dollar beach. Overall great!

Good locations. There is a tick problem though, had to check the dogs and ourselves often

Campground site very large with partial grass. The area where you park your rv was very uneven and difficult to level the RV.There is a water shortage so they are using chemical toilets right now.

An excellent well run campground with beautiful views of the bay 5 min away. Some sites are larger than others. Quiet, respectful crowd.

We spent 2 nights in Plaskett, the first at site #035 that we reserved in advance and then the 2nd night moved to site #022 for the first come first serve. The park was easy to find, even at night (JUST MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE MAP BEFORE YOU LEAVE SANTA CRUZ AREA (if heading south) BECAUSE THERE'S ZERO RECEPTION!). Pavement all the way around the park (some repairs needed, but nothing inadequate for our truck with truck camper. Good signage, so was easy to find our location...all except the bathroom. Pulling in at night (was pitch-black) made that challenging. Late arrival meant we had to check-in the next morning as we went to try to get a FCFS 2nd night after 11am. At first, Adri was not very friendly starting with "I didn't check you in last night." When we explained we arrived late, she responded curtly "Last name?" Once we established we had a reservation, she eventually became more friendly and told us site #22 was available, but not very friendly or helpful. However on future encounters, she seemed much lighter and friendly. There was an unpleasant interaction with a fellow camper starting yelling profanities as loud as he could for 30ish min, and she came around and apologized for observing that interaction and introduced her dogs to my kids.Note: You do have to buy the $15 small bundle of wood.No water in the restrooms so plan accordingly, but toilets do flush but not all restrooms were unlocked and available. Several times were there long lines waiting to go. Please unlock all of the restrooms.Great listening to the sound of the waves! Important to note that to get to the beach, you have to go down a rope to get to the gorgeous beach so we just explored above on top of the cliffs. While $35/night is pretty standard, especially for Big Sur, I do think the lack of available water warranted a slightly cheaper price...but is Big Sur! Other campgrounds have zero water, so there's that...

We stayed at site #35 which is a very beautiful and big space. Even though there is a slight slope, we managed to find flat surface for our 2 tents. Overall beautiful campground at beautiful location. Will visit again. Note: please get your own firewood if possible. It is a bit expensive here.

We arrived after sunset with our 30ft RV to our reserved Site 35. Before I book a spot, I always check pad length, pictures, and read as much as I can. We were sad to arrive and see there was such a huge slope, there would be NO WAY we could level our RV. It was about a 3 ft difference from front to back. The campground was full. We were going to have to back track and drive 1.5 to San Simeon. Lucky for us when we went to see if we could get a refund , the camp host had someone not like their site (#11) . We were able to switch, thank goodness. Definitely, not a site I would ever chose ( right next to restrooms, but. level!I just wish when putting in the filters, when booking online, it would keep something like this from happening. Otherwise, its a great campground. So many beautiful places to explore nearby.

Awesome campsite if you’re in a group as campsites are close together. Great place to bring your dog along as Sand Dollar Beach and Willow Creek Day Use are both dog friendly. Camp hosts for the week of June 21, 2022 were super friendly and helpful!!

Nice field in the middle of the campground, kids friendly, close to the ocean shore (walkable).

The park was booked up on the weekend we had a reservation, but by Sunday evening there were only 4 groups left, so weekdays are best if you want a quiet experience. All of the other campers were very conscientious, and basically good neighbors. We spent the entire three days in the coves over the bluffs searching for jade (nephrite), shells and interesting flotsam and jetsam washed ashore. Used both the fire pit and BBQ grill and they were heavy duty and in good condition. The restroom near us was clean and really appreciate a flush toilet over pits. If you are a mycologist, the abundance and variety of mushrooms in the area was impressive.
